Throw your hands up in the air! It is never too early to get excited about READING!

Today, we were so excited to welcome Monica McQueen, the new Early Literacy Outreach Librarian at the Eugene Public Library, to Pearl Buck Center Preschool! Monica visited each of our classrooms for a special story-time with her wonderful puppet, Dragon.

Our children had the opportunity to enjoy stories, engage their imaginations, and experience the joy of reading in a fun, interactive way. Experiences like these help build early literacy skills, spark curiosity, and foster a lifelong love of books!

We’re especially excited to learn about the Eugene Public Library’s Story-time to Go program, which plans to bring trained volunteers to preschools for story-times and literacy-building activities beginning in the spring. What a wonderful way to connect our youngest learners with their community and make early literacy more accessible!

A huge thank-you to Monica and the Eugene Public Library for spending time with our little learners and helping make reading an adventure!

With the cold and rain fast approaching, our individuals in the LEAP program are taking every opportunity to take in the rays and enjoy the outdoors!

Individuals in our LEAP program are offered Daily Supported Activity outings about 50-60% of the time they are with us. These outings are designed to encourage engagement and exploration, while also improving their comfortability in the community.
.. and sometimes its just fun to sit in the sunshine and eat some ice cream!

A huge shoutout to our amazing friends at Pearl Buck Center, who show up EVERY MONTH 🍼👏

This month, their team repacked 2,310 diapers in just ONE HOUR! 🎉

We absolutely LOVE having this crew in our warehouse and look forward to seeing them every month!
