A little clay, a lot of creativity, and some much-needed time together!

Our team traded their keyboards for pottery tools during a creative retreat at Erie Clayspace, where Executive Director Caelin guided everyone through making their very own mugs.

Since 1981, Clayspace has been bringing people together through pottery, and we're so grateful to have this creative gem in our community.

Sometimes the most powerful thing art can do is start a conversation.

Our September Gallery Night featured *Who We Have Become*, an exhibition of artwork created by incarcerated artists and presented through Pittsburgh-based organization Let's Get Free.

The following evening, Erie artists Antonio Howard and Allen Brown joined us for a moving artist talk that reminded us how creativity can challenge perspectives, share stories, and connect us through our shared humanity.

We're grateful to everyone who experienced this exhibition and helped make space for meaningful dialogue.

Did you know there's a hidden waterway beneath the streets of Erie?

The Hidden Creeks Project is bringing the story of Mill Creek to the surface through public art!

The project's first sculpture has officially been unveiled on French Street outside Erie Insurance Arena, featuring shimmering glass, sweeping metal arches, and colorful mosaics. And the adventure doesn't stop there! Follow the art trail to FEED Media Art Center to discover even more.

It's history, conservation, and creativity coming together in one incredible project.

Erie Arts & Culture is accepting applications to the Beyers Fund for Music Performance until December 15. Erie County non-profits or grassroots efforts using a fiscal sponsor are encouraged to apply for partial project support. The Beyers Fund supports musical projects of all genres that exemplify artistic quality. Projects must occur between April 2027 and March 2028. Applications will be accepted at erieartsculture.submittable.com.

Last week’s Creative Crowd gave us the perfect opportunity to celebrate the inaugural recipients of the Carla B. Hughes Memorial Dance Grant!

Mia Adelhardt received the $500 Dancer Grant, recognizing her technique, musicality, and commitment to growing her skills as a dancer and choreographer. Mariah Johnson received the $1,000 Choreographer Grant, recognizing her work on the competition circuit, ability to bring multiple dance styles together, and compelling choreography.

We were thrilled to present Mia with her check during Creative Crowd! Mariah couldn’t join us that evening because, very fittingly, she was busy teaching a dance class—but we were absolutely celebrating her, too.

Congratulations, Mia and Mariah! We’re proud to support two artists who are creating, teaching, and helping dance continue to thrive in our community.
