Community Resource Center Community Resource Center (CRC®) is a nonprofit helping our neighbors create paths to healthy food, stable homes and safe relationships.

Our vision is communities Communities where everyone has access to the resources they need to live with dignity. After seeing so many in need, local community, faith-based and business leaders collaborated to form an organization to address homelessness and food insecurity among low-income community members. Since 1979, Community Resource Center has grown from providing basic needs for families in crisis, to offering a comprehensive continuum of safety net services - emergency assistance, case management, counseling, shelter and food - to low-income individuals and families who are experiencing homelessness or at imminent risk of homelessness, including domestic violence survivors and their children.

Purple is a symbol of peace, courage and survival. Today, our San Marcos and Encinitas Resale Store teams wore purple for Purple Thursday, standing in solidarity with survivors of domestic violence during Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

We honor survivors, remember those whose lives have been lost to domestic violence and remind our community that everyone deserves to feel safe in their relationships and at home.

With survivors, always. 💜

With survivors, always. 💜 Join us in wearing purple this Thursday, October 15!

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, a time to raise awareness, stand with survivors and remind our community that everyone deserves to feel safe in their relationships.

Domestic violence affects people in every community. 1 in 4 women and 1 in 7 men have experienced severe physical violence by an intimate partner in their lifetime.

This Purple Thursday, wear purple to show your support for survivors and help build a community where survivors feel seen, supported and empowered to seek help. Wear purple, share a photo and encourage others to join you! Throughout October, CRC Resale Stores (CRC Resale Stores) are also recognizing Domestic Violence Awareness Month with 25% off purple items.

Red flags aren’t always obvious at first.

Ignoring your boundaries, trying to control who you spend time with, pressuring you into things or blaming you for their behavior can all be signs of an unhealthy or abusive relationship. To learn more about warning signs, please visit thehotline.org (National Domestic Violence Hotline).

Healthy relationships should be built on respect, trust and the freedom to make your own choices. If something in your relationship doesn’t feel right, support is available. You don’t have to wait for things to get worse or be ready to leave to talk with someone about what you’re experiencing.
