Research shows that practicing gratitude beyond just saying “thank you”, boosts mental and physical well-being. It strengthens relationships, increases self-worth, blocks negative emotions, and helps us show up as kinder, more helpful people.

Gratitude in it's most genuine form involves four steps:
1️⃣ Noticing what you’re grateful for
2️⃣ Understanding why you’re grateful
3️⃣ Feeling the emotions that come with it
4️⃣ Paying it forward

Gratitude isn’t only about people, it can come from appreciating your life circumstances, too. So, next time you practice gratitude, slow down and move through all four steps.

ICAC Task Forces urgently need support to keep pace with the growing number of cases they face each year. These professionals are true heroes, working long hours, carrying the weight of chronic stress, and coping with secondary trauma as part of their daily reality. Ensuring dedicated funding for wellness programs and maintaining adequate staffing across law enforcement agencies is not just important, it’s essential. After all, who else will protect our children if we don’t protect those who safeguard them?
