Lions Tigers & Bears

Lions Tigers & Bears We are an exotic animal sanctuary dedicated to animals born into captivity who are ignored and abused We are one of only twelve big Cat Sanctuaries in the US.
(1135)

Lions, Tigers & Bears is a federally and state licensed non-profit 501(c)(3) rescue facility dedicated to providing a safe haven for unwanted and abused exotic animals. Our goal is to provide a safe haven and to educate the public about the growing population of abandoned and unwanted exotic animals in our nation. Sadly, in many areas of the United States, there are countless big cats and wild exo

tics in private captivity. The number of animals bred and born in captivity is currently greater than that in the wild. Many of these animals are born into a life of abuse, ill-health, crowded conditions and ultimately an early and painful death. The exotic animal trade is a 17 billion dollar a year industry, second only to drugs and weapons. Many private owners purchase these exotics without enough information about the amount of care they require and then struggle to find an organization to off-load them. Zoos will rarely take these animals and sanctuaries count on the support of donors to help them pick up where humanity has left off. Founder, Bobbi Brink, notes the conditions that many of the animals live in: "...in miserable holding cells with no sunlight or windows, living in cages so small they barely have room to stand up or turn around. Many live in basements, never seeing sunlight or smelling fresh air. I have seen 10 or more cats crowded together in a small enclosure, where they restlessly pace in filth, and fight each other for scraps of food. Some starve to death. A full grown exotic cat costs about $15.00 a day to feed ($450.00 a month-just for food!)"

Thank you for your interest in the plight of these forgotten beings. They, and we, count on your support to continue to provide for the beings in our care and to help us open our hearts and gates to the ones that are still out there waiting for our help. When the call came, we answered. ❤️
Last week, our rescue team traveled more than 2,000 miles to bring Olivia, a 300-pound American black bear, safely home to Lions Tigers & Bears.

Like so many animals in need, Olivia’s future was uncertain. Recognizing the lifelong care a bear requires, her owner made the compassionate decision to seek help and give her the chance to thrive in a professional sanctuary setting.

Today, Olivia is settling into her new home, enjoying nutritious meals, exploring enrichment, and showing us glimpses of her playful personality as she begins this new chapter.

Rescues like Olivia’s are only possible because of supporters like you. Every mile traveled, every medical exam, every safe landing is made possible by a community that believes wild animals deserve a second chance.

Welcome home, Olivia. 🐻✨

From Hollywood to poolside retirement 🐻☀️💦

Rocky said “no more cameras please” and traded the entertainment industry for enrichment toys, splash sessions, snacks, and a forever home at Lions Tigers & Bears 🤎

Before being rescued in 2022, Rocky spent years in entertainment before ending up in a boarding facility that was far too small for a bear of his size. Knowing he deserved better, Bobbi stepped in to give him the life every bear should have: room to roam, expert care, and the freedom to just be goofy 🫶🐾

Now he spends his days doing important bear business… like launching pool toys across the habitat and having the best summer ever ✨Four years later and he’s still living his best retired life.

Celebrate Rocky by fulfilling items on his wishlist! Your donations help provide enrichment, habitats, medical care, and second chances every single day 🐻🌿

Happy Gotcha Day, Rocky.

Eddie said… this is mine 😌 Meet Eddie, our very handsome jaguar. Today’s enrichment turned into a full moment: he found his treat, claimed his spot, and got to work. Then… a little noise behind him 👀

Cue the look, the stance, and yes, the teeth. Not because he’s being mean, but because in the wild, this is how big cats protect what’s theirs. And honestly… he makes it look good.

At Lions Tigers & Bears, enrichment like this helps animals tap into their natural instincts — exploring, searching, and yes, guarding their food. Strong, smart, and a little dramatic… Eddie, we see you 🤍
