A change in weather is forecasted to bring rains, potentially heavy at times, Thursday night and Friday to San Diego County - meaning it could be a good time to pick up some free sandbags. ☔️🌧️

As they have in the past, the County of San Diego and CAL FIRE/San Diego County Fire are providing free bags and/or sand at numerous fire stations for people who live in the unincorporated areas.

Properly placed sandbags can help protect your home from flooding and destructive runoff.

Visit www.alertsandiego.org/en-us/recovery/sandbags to view sandbag pickup locations.

It is recommended that anyone interested should call ahead to double-check availability and remember to bring a shovel to fill the bags! Note: Some stations may have a limited supply.
