Despite a few thunderstorms, Session 1 Check-In Day was a huge success! 🌦️⛺ We had so much fun meeting all of our Camp Jordan Session 1 campers and families. The excitement is building, and we can't wait for an amazing week of adventures, friendships, and memories ! 💙☀️

Camp Hope is our favorite way to kick off our Camp Jordan summer!

When families face a cancer diagnosis, enjoying summer activities that others take for granted may be far from their minds.

Entering its 13th year, Camp Hope, a collaboration between Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center and the Bangor Region YMCA, is a special week, being held this week at the Y’s Camp Jordan in Ellsworth that gives children living with a cancer diagnosis a real summer camp experience, doing all the things they love, learning new skills, creating arts and crafts, paddling boats, going hiking and swimming, singing songs, and building campfires. The week is free for all immediate family members, including siblings and parents.

Ava Collins, MHA, FACHE, president of Eastern Maine Medical Center was on hand earlier today to greet the families and share a few words with media about Camp Hope and why this week is so important for families.

“Eastern Maine Medical Center is happy to partner with our friends at the Bangor Y to help create memories that will last a lifetime for these kids, and provide a space for physical, mental, and emotional healing that every child facing illness deserves.”

Tubing is one of everyone’s favorite activities at Camp Jordan every summer! ☀️ There’s nothing better than sunshine, splashing water, and lots of laughter out on the lake. From first-time riders to tubing pros, it’s always a highlight of camp and a memory campers talk about all year long!
