Talk of the Towns with co-hosts Liz Graves and Ron Beard
Wednesday, June 10th, 4:00 – 5:00 pm.
“The Maine Town and City”
For 90 years, the Maine Municipal Association has been a key resource to Maine's 420 towns and 23 cities. When local officials, whether elected, appointed or as staff, want help they turn to the non-profit, non-partisan MMA and turn the pages of its stellar monthly publication, now called “The Maine Town and City.”
And on the June edition of Talk of the Towns, we highlight the work of MMA in a conversation with Kate Dufour, Director of Advocacy and Communication; Michael Starn, former magazine editor; Kay Rand, former director of state and federal relations; and Jill Goldwait, longtime friend of MMA, former state senator and original co-host of WERU's long-running Talk of the Towns.
Current co-hosts, Liz Graves, former editor of the Mount Desert Islander, and Ron Beard, a past member of the Bar Harbor Town Council, lead the conversation about MMA's storied history and its role in supporting Maine towns and cities.
Tune in, Wednesday afternoon, June 10th, 4:00 – 5:00, when the Talk of the Towns is the Maine Municipal Association.
Talk of the Towns airs on the 2nd Wednesday of the Month only on WERU Community Radio, 89.9 FM on the radio dial, streaming all over our watery planet on weru.org or on the WERU App.
