Funeral directors fill an important role in society that often goes unseen. My appreciation for them grows every time I interact with them. A few weeks ago I presented at the New Hampshire Funeral Directors Association meeting and had a chance to hear their stories.

NOKfinders is honored to serve funeral directors by providing genealogy research to locate next of kin for decedents that would otherwise go unclaimed. This is done at no cost to the funeral homes.

Our work ensures families are notified when someone dies. Experienced genealogists identify next of kin. The information is then used by the medical examiner, coroner, or funeral home to contact the family. Without our work, a death notification to the family would not be possible and the decedent is at risk of becoming unclaimed.

What an amazing experience at the New England Regional Genealogical Consortium (NERGC) in Manchester, NH!

The conference was packed with many sessions and time to connect. It was great to catch up with other professionals and meet many new people who share a passion for genealogy.

Genealogy is used for many purposes and participants were eager to learn how NOKfinders is using it to help prevent people from being unclaimed after death.

A big thank you to the organizers for a stellar event!
