Hello Hancock County Municipal Leaders -

How do Downeast municipalities respond to major economic opportunities when they come knocking at your town door? Interested in hearing what is happening in Jonesport with Kingfish Maine? You are invited to a Downeast Innovation Network gathering on Friday, April 15th from 1:00 - 3:00.

The April 15th Friday Forum topic will explore the interface between economic development projects and local municipal government in order to enhance opportunities for new business growth and community benefit in Washington and Hancock counties. The featured case study is the Kingfish Project in Jonesport.

In order to move economic development priorities forward, municipal government leaders must be included in planning discussions to expand innovative projects at the county and local community level. Exploring the interface between these critical players can lead to better outcomes for the community at large, entrepreneurs, and municipal and/or private investors. Our goal for this conversation is to share insights and experiences to inform our collaborative efforts. The agenda is attached.

DEIN’s purpose is to support and inspire a professional group of Downeast “ambassadors, connectors and navigators” who serve entrepreneurs and small businesses in Washington and Hancock counties. DEIN provides virtual or in-person gatherings for network peers to connect, share ideas, and learn about formal and informal resources available through their respective organizations. It brings together economic development and other sector leaders from across the region and state to expand connections and collaborations.

If you would like to invite a Select Board or Planning Board member to join you, please feel free to do so.

We hope you will join us. Here is the Zoom info: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/5129576453?pwd=TmkzSHh1bDRBWjBlTWZDMWlWdzludz09
