Starting March 4, 2026, Union River Redemption is teaming up with Sheriff’s Charities for a full year of bottle‑powered community support — ending March 4, 2027.

Have a mountain of bottles? A garage full? A “don’t‑open-that-door” situation? Union River Redemption will pick up large loads for FREE — no judgment, just gratitude.

Every bottle you donate helps us provide:

Christmas for kids and seniors who need a little extra joy

Heating assistance during Maine’s coldest months

Support for domestic violence victims seeking safety

Help for families who’ve lost their homes to fire

Machias Savings Bank has done it again — showing what true community spirit looks like!

Today, they donated another $500 to the Sheriff’s Charities of Hancock County, not tied to an event, not prompted by a campaign… just because they believe in supporting the people and programs that strengthen our county.

That kind of heart is what keeps our mission moving forward. Their continued generosity helps us uplift local families, support youth programs, and make a real difference right here at home.

The Sheriff's Charities, members of the Hancock County Sheriff's Office, and the Hancock County District Attorney's Office teamed up and had the privilege of delivering Christmas cheer to our local assisted living facilities.

From big smiles to happy tears, it was a reminder that the best gifts aren't found under the tree, they're found in moments, memories, and kindness shared.

And yes... we even had to take the Grinch into custody after he was caught trying to steal a few presents! Luckily, all the gifts were recovered and Christmas was saved by none other than Santa Clause himself.

We’re incredibly grateful to the Acadia Area ATV'ers for their generous donation to the Sheriff's Charities of Hancock County in support of our Christmas for Kids event! 🎄
Throughout November, they held a toy drive and recently delivered a wonderful collection of gifts that will bring joy to children in our community this holiday season. 💝

Back in September, the trails were buzzing during our Carnival ATV Ride, and we couldn’t have done it without the generous support of Machias Savings Bank!

We were thrilled to snap a photo with their amazing team and our members from the Sheriff’s Charities of Hancock County — especially with that awesome sign proudly declaring:
