PAWV Director, Danielle, toured the western side of the Mountain State this week. First, she stopped at the Fort Gay High School redevelopment project for a site visit with the new Fund for Historic Schools subgrantee, Coalfield Development where we discussed the new windows that will be installed on the first floor.

Next stop was Huntington to visit the new Preserve WV AmeriCorps serving with Huntington Rising where 2 members started serving last Thursday. They will be helping with the redevelopment of the massive church building on Jefferson Avenue.

The final stop today was Point Pleasant to participate in a meeting convened by the Brownfields Center at WVU. It was a fantastic time learning all of the amazing things happening in Point from Chris, Main Street Point Pleasant's Director.

Hello again from the New River Gorge National Park and Preserve, AmeriCorps Madison recently completed her large project for the year at the Kaymoor historic mine site! With the help of historic preservationist from Greenbrier County, Joshua Adamo, and multiple park staff they were able to restore the mine safety board. A three-day workshop was held with Adamo leading park staff and Preserve WV AmeriCorps members on how to use in-kind materials, proper documentation, and restoration methods to revamp the sign that was in a serious state of deterioration. They were able to restore the roof and the horizontal support beams on the structure as well as clean and restore the lettering. HUGE thank you to all those involved in the preparation of this project and the workshop days making Madison's project a success!!
