I signed up as a way to respect and help our veterans. Wherever and however they serve, in whatever branch, they are helping to protect our country and the way of life and liberty we hold dear. Well, it actually "Guess who's coming to the 6th annual Top Dog Championship?" A 2008 Aston Martin Vantage just popped up on the registration roster โ€” a sleek British GT that looks like it drove straight out of a spy film. Could it be that 007 is headed our way? Bond, James Bond? Or perhaps Fleming, Ian Fleming? All will be revealed soon โ€” stay tuned for driver announcements and surprise reveals.

The grid is filling fast. As of this post, the Army has the most boots on the ground โ€” 20 entries โ€” followed by the Marine Corps with 15. Donโ€™t miss the action as teams battle to get their service name on the Top Dog Trophy.

As a veteran, I always try to support veteran's charities and, while this one is new to me, it sounded great. My son is a disabled vet and my wife and I had a service dog trained for him several years ago--I know how important they are to vets in need! Plus a fun event to participate in!

2026 Fallen Firefighters Stair Climb, Baltimore, MD. This coming Saturday, September 5th, I will be climbing 2,200 stairs in Raven's Arena (M&T Bank Stadium) in honor of the 343 firefighters who gave their lives on 9/11 to save others.

Iโ€™m a Marine veteran, a lifelong car guy, and Iโ€™ve learned that sometimes the best way to get veterans together isnโ€™t to invite them to a โ€œveteran mental health eventโ€; itโ€™s to hand them a helmet, put them around race cars, and give them something worth showing up for.

Motorsports creates challenge, purpose, connection, and the kind of camaraderie a lot of us miss after service. That idea is a big part of what Iโ€™m building with Campfire Garage, so when I saw Rally4Vets combining veterans and racing, signing up was pretty much inevitable.

The combination of challenge and community. When youโ€™re on track, everything else disappears; you have a clear objective, immediate feedback, and you have to be completely present. Then you come back into the paddock and youโ€™re surrounded by people who will compete with you all day and help you fix the car five minutes later.
