Today, we celebrate the Feast of St. Thérèse of Lisieux, the Little Flower.

St. Thérèse never left her Carmelite convent, never preached a homily, and died at just 24.

Yet the Church named her a Doctor of the Church and patroness of the missions. Her "Little Way" reminds us that holiness isn't reserved for the extraordinary. It's found in faithfulness to the small, hidden work God places in front of us each day.

Campus ministers, this one's for you. The late-night conversation, the retreat logistics, the student who finally walks through the door after weeks of invitations. None of it is too small for God to make holy.

Before we put these questions in front of the students we serve, we have to be willing to put them in front of ourselves first.

Your ministry needs your gifts. But you need formation, community and renewal, too.

You were never meant to do this work alone.

CCMA exists to accompany and equip the people who accompany students: creating space for campus ministers to be formed, connected, renewed, and supported in the work God has entrusted to them.

Supporting campus ministry means supporting campus ministers.

Today the Church in the United States rejoices: Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen is now Blessed Fulton Sheen.

Before he ever stood in front of a television camera, Sheen spent more than two decades in the classroom, teaching and forming young minds at The Catholic University of America. He believed the university was a place where the deepest questions of the human heart could meet the living Christ. Then he took that same conviction to millions through radio and TV, meeting people exactly where they were.

Campus ministers, that is your work too. Every conversation over coffee, every late night question after Mass, every student you walk alongside is a chance to point toward the One who answers the longing of the soul.

Yesterday, the Church celebrated the feast of Our Lady of Sorrows.

From her example, we are reminded that we are not called to explain away our students' pain or rush them to the "lesson" in their suffering. We're called to stand at the foot of their crosses — present, faithful, and unhurried.

Who taught you how to sit with someone in pain instead of fixing it? Tag a mentor who modeled that for you, or share this with a fellow campus minister who may need that reminder today.
