One of the hardest parts of Foster Care Awareness Month is realizing how many children experience crisis quietly.

Many people never see it happening.

But foster families see it.
Caseworkers see it.
And we see it every day through the urgent clothing needs that come through our organization.

Children entering foster care deserve more than survival.
They deserve dignity, comfort, and care.

FAQ: Why do you prefer donations in regular kitchen trash bags?

Because our volunteers are superheroes, not bodybuilders… and, they’re using personal vehicles. 💙

Regular kitchen-sized bags are:
✔ easier to lift
✔ safer to carry
✔ easier to sort
✔ easier to fit into volunteer vehicles

Contractor bags often become too heavy to safely manage.

We also prefer bags instead of boxes or tote bins because they allow us to transport more clothing at one time.

These small details make a BIG difference behind the scenes.

Many people are surprised to learn how quickly foster care placements happen.

A child may be removed with very little notice.
A foster family may get a phone call asking them to welcome a child that same day.

And often…
that child arrives with nothing.

That’s why The Pass Along Project exists.

To provide children with a full starter wardrobe within hours — so caregivers can focus on helping children feel safe, supported, and cared for.

The answer?

We accept clothing in ALL sizes:
Preemie through Adult 5XL
All seasons
Boys, girls, men, and women

Children entering foster care come in every age and size imaginable — and many arrive with nothing.

Your donations help us quickly build complete wardrobes for children and families in crisis throughout New Hampshire.

When donating:
✔ Please use regular kitchen-sized trash bags
✘ Please do not use contractor bags
✘ Please avoid boxes and tote bins

Our volunteers transport donations using their personal vehicles, and smaller bags are safer and easier to manage.
