💜 160 Lives Lost. 160 Families Forever Changed.
Domestic violence continues to claim lives across Texas, leaving behind grieving families, children, and communities.
During Domestic Violence Awareness Month, Families in Crisis, Inc. joins the Texas Council on Family Violence (TCFV) in honoring the lives lost to intimate partner violence and raising awareness about the importance of survivor safety.
According to TCFV’s 2025 Honoring Texas Victims Report:
💜 160 Texans were killed by an intimate partner in 2025.
💜 136 women and 24 men lost their lives to intimate partner violence.
💜 85% of female victims were between the ages of 20 and 49.
💜 11 victims were age 70 or older, highlighting the devastating impact of domestic violence among older adults, including individuals in their 80s.
Behind every statistic is a person whose life mattered. A mother, father, daughter, son, friend, or loved one whose absence is felt every day.
Domestic violence does not discriminate by age, gender, or background. These numbers remind us why awareness, early intervention, and access to supportive services are so important.
At Families in Crisis, Inc., we remain committed to providing survivors with safety planning, advocacy, emergency shelter assistance, protective order support, and resources to help them move toward safety and independence.
