🤠🐴 LOVE OBSTACLE CHALLENGES? JOIN OUR CREW! 🐴🤠

Have fun riding yesterday's obstacle course?

Ever found yourself thinking, "That would be a fun obstacle!" or "I have an idea for next year's theme!"

If so, we'd love to have you join our obstacle challenge team.

We're always looking for people who enjoy:
• Creative brainstorming
• Building and decorating obstacles
• Planning fun themes
• Crafting and painting
• Setting up and tearing down events
• Making horse activities enjoyable for riders of all ages and skill levels

You don't need special experience.

A creative mind, a sense of fun, and a willingness to help are all that's required!

Many of our best obstacle ideas have come from horse people who simply enjoy imagining new challenges and bringing them to life.

If you'd like to help create future obstacle courses, let us know. We'd love to hear your ideas and welcome new volunteers.

Help us keep the fun rolling down the trail!

⭐ Creative Minds Welcome
⭐ New Ideas Encouraged
⭐ All Skill Levels Appreciated

Because great obstacle courses don't build themselves!

Thank You to everyone who came out to our obstacle course yesterday to compete, spectate or help. We had such a great turnout, biggest ever, and more than we could have imagined. We know it made for a long day but I hope you all had as much fun with it as we did. And we really appreciated your feedback on how we can tweak things to go smoother in the future.

A huge Thank You to the volunteers, and especially our judge who was out there in the arena for nearly 12 hours straight.

And Thank You to everyone who jumped in to help with setup and takedown. We really appreciated the extra hands.

I know a photographer will be making photos available soon, but here's a few pictures I snapped towards the end. Please tag anyone if you recognize them.

unanimously.
Old Business
● Game arena updates
○ Troy not present at meeting to give an update. Discussion to whether we should
go forward with getting a quote now since prices are expected to go up. Diana
will reach out to Troy and see if he is ok with her contacting local excavators for
quotes. Discussion of layers/work needed that Diana compiled. Mark said he will
send that info to an excavator he knows.
● Spring clean up day
○ Large turnout with a good amount of projects completed
○ Manure pit will need concrete to support it into the hillside. The boards and rails
will need to be replaced
■ Option of getting concrete walls for the pit instead of wood? Would last
quite a long time. Possibly get the
○ Large amount of staples removed from inside and outside of stalls! We should
make sure that we tell people to NOT use staples anymore.
○ Mowing
■ Angie will try and get out this week. Troy’s dad said he could possibly
come out and do some mowing. Jim will not be available to mow for a few
months.
● Raffles
○ Nothing new to discuss at this time
○ Cooler raffle - people should keep an eye out for cooler additions
● Sponsor sign renewals
○ Diana sent a message to Ashley at Markquart. No reply.
○ Culvers - no reply yet, they were very busy with new opening in Eau Claire.
● No trespassing signs/chains
○ We need to put up signs at entrances - possibly get from Fleet Farm?
○ Chains should stay up as much as possible to make it clear that it is private
property
● Royalty contest
○ Has 2 applicants for princess, Angie Clausen will be organizing dates and judge.
New business
● Photographer inquiry
○ Christine Gallup reached out to ask about being at the shows this summer to
take photos.
○ It would be great to have a photographer out! Mallory will reach out to her and
see what dates she plans on coming.
● Insurance update
○ Diana had a meeting with insurance agent. Deductibles for wind has increased to
$10,000. Unfortunately that means that the games stand, food stand, etc will
most likely not be compensated if there is a wind related event. They will be
covering the clubhouse.
● Volunteers
○ Volunteers should continue to put their name on a slip of paper into a bucket so
that we can have a drawing and also keep loose track of who volunteers.
● Rental for Jen Bull clinic/schooling show in August
○ Angie came up with an “educational” rental contract for them to sign
○ They are doing a clinic/schooling show geared towards Arabians and half
Arabians
○ They will have 30-40 horses max
● High points/awards
○ Angie will work on ordering buckles for fun show, royalty contest and obstacle
course series
○ Donations are coming in for high points
■ Let Diana know if we receive any donations that are over $50 so they can
be added to the donation board
○ Angie is working on getting high points purchased
● Shavings
○ We will need shavings before the pleasure show in June
With no further business to attend to, Diana motioned to adjourn the meeting and Carrie
seconded. Motion was passed unanimously and meeting adjourned at 8:05pm.
Respectfully submitted by Mallory Harrelle.
