We're so excited to have Caitlin Lee join us this year as the Keynote at the 2024 HMoob Heritage Month Gala.

Caitlin is a community builder and grassroots organizer with over 20 years of workforce diversity expertise in higher education. She has engaged in many equity, diversity, and inclusion steering committees and taskforces to advance EDI goals.

Caitlin deeply believes in creating equitable and inclusive spaces for dialogue and change. In the spirit of community building and creating platforms of inclusion, she is the co-founder of the Hmong Women Summit: The Authenticity Project centered on the development of authentic and intersectional leadership to build inclusive communities. To help build inclusive communities, Caitlin is also the co-chair of the Democratic Party of Wisconsin’s AAPI Caucus to further create inclusive spaces and platforms for Asian American voices in the state of Wisconsin.

Caitlin has been awarded the UW-Systems Women of Color in Education award and the Beloved Community Leadership Award by Uniting Bridges, a local non-profit organization in Eau Claire, WI. Recently, she was recognized by Madison 365 as one of 40 most influential Asian American leaders in Wisconsin as well as being awarded the Hmong Wisconsin Chamber of Commerce’s Professional of the Year Award.

Last week we were awarded a Cornerstone Award from United Way of the Greater Chippewa Valley at the Chippewa Valley Spirit Awards. This means that our employees donated 10% more compared to our previous year's contributions.

Thank you to United Way for this award, and to our employees for increasing contributions for this important mission - "improving lives and building stronger Chippewa Valley communities by bringing resources together to advance the common good."

Yep. That’s exactly what they’re saying.

[Image description: a list that says
“10 Things You're Actually Saying When
You Ignore Someone's Gender Pronouns:
1. I know you better than you know yourself.
2. I would rather hurt you repeatedly than change
the way I speak about you.
3. Your sense of safety is not important to me.
4. Your identity isn't real and shouldn't be
acknowledged.
5. I want to teach everyone around me to disrespect you.
6. Offending you is fine if it makes me feel more
comfortable.
7. I can hear you talking, but I'm not really listening.
8. Being who you truly are is an inconvenience to me.
9. I would prefer it if you stopped being honest
with me.
10. I am not an ally, a friend, or someone you
can trust.”]
