Family Voices: Our Shared Journey is a collaboration between the DPS Foundation, the Durham Cooperative Extension, and the Stanford Warren County Library, bringing together Black and Brown educators, parents, and community members to share their stories and build a sense of community. 💙 📖 🌷

Thank you to every business, organization, neighborhood, family, and community member who helped make Fill That Bus possible. Durham showed up for our public schools!

And these supplies won’t sit still for long, DPS teachers start placing their first Crayons2Calculators orders on Monday! 📚✏️ As supplies head into classrooms, we’ll keep restocking the Teacher Store throughout the year.

So yes, we filled the bus—and there’s always room for more.

✨ We love seeing our Innovation Grant recipients shine bright!

Join us in celebrating Paula Januzzi-Godfrey, Media Coordinator at Glenn Elementary, who was named a regional winner for the North Carolina School Librarian of the Year Award! 📚🎉

We’ve had the joy of seeing Paula’s creativity and commitment to students and families in action through Around the Kitchen Table, her 2024–25 Innovation Grant project. Through stories, cooking, and shared meals, Paula created a welcoming space for Glenn families to celebrate culture, build relationships, and learn together.

Paula, congratulations on this well-deserved recognition! We’re so glad to see your impact on the Glenn community celebrated. 💙

The young members of Sembrando Raices held a tomato sale to raise money for toys to be used during our Friday afternoon meetings.

In the Family Engagement sector of the Durham Public Schools Foundation, we create intentional spaces where our children feel safe, loved, respected, and seen.

Los jóvenes miembros de «Sembrando Raíces» organizaron una venta de tomates para recaudar fondos destinados a la compra de juguetes que se utilizarán durante nuestras reuniones de los viernes por la tarde.
