Rotarians love philanthropy and the Paul Harris Fellowship recognizes Rotarians as they reach the $1,000 mark in donations. It can take 10 years or one year, and as it adds up we celebrate. What a moving meeting we had last Monday. Rotary member Matt Whitnack sits on the board of Vets to Vets United, Inc and invited Dr. Terry Morris to speak with us about how the organization helps local vets. We had the added pleasure of meeting Tiffy and Stella. Will you at our next meeting?

It's been a busy week at Rotary! Mission Monday we were at Museum of Durham History. Thursday, we met for Rotary Fellowship. Will you join us Monday when we will meet to hear Mike MacMillan speak on the retirement crisis and wealth inequality.

Rotary Foundation works toward several key health goals including eradicating polio. To recognize vital donors to this effort, we frequently honor Rotarians who have achieved a cumulative benchmark of $1,000 as Paul Harris Fellows, often multiple times. At the most recent meeting Bob Stevens (left to right), Kim Shaw, and Barry Curtis were recognized by club Foundation Chair John Taylor.

Constantly setting an example for service about self, Newman Aguiar (right) has led so many service projects and served in a number of leadership posts. District Governor Pat Gallagher and Assistant Governor Sara Abrons presented Newman with the
2026 Rotary International Distinguished Service Award! Rotary caps this award to no more than 50 individuals a year. The award honors Rotarians who demonstrate exceptional, long-term service to the Foundation far beyond the local district level. Congratulations Newman! You inspire us all!
