Before move-in. Before the first class. Before that first walk across campus. 💙

For many Blue Devils, a Duke Send-Off Party is one of the first moments when Duke starts to feel real — bringing incoming students, families and alumni together before the Duke experience officially begins.

This year, nearly 60 gatherings across seven countries welcomed the newest members of the Duke community. And sometimes, the tradition comes full circle: At a Miami Send-Off, Patricia Sánchez Abril ’96 discovered that one of her guests was Jorge Diaz-Silveira ’85 — the very alum who hosted her own Send-Off Party in 1993. Did you attend a Send-Off before your first year at Duke? Tell us where. 👇
