ugh the merger of the American Sustainable Business Council (ASBC) and Social Venture Circle (SVC), ASBN rejects short-term thinking narrowly focused on just shareholder value in favor of a capitalism based on creating long-term value and being accountable to all stakeholders: owners, workers, families, community, environment, state, nation, and world. In today’s environment, many companies are reassessing how to approach fairness and opportunity at work.

This case study shows what it looks like to stay grounded in consistent, measurable practices by strengthening talent systems in ways that support both employees and long-term business performance.

Trillium Asset Management offers a practical example of how to do this well. We are proud to be featured in this case study, which explores how Trillium built fair, consistent practices—from relationship-based recruitment to pay equity—and how those efforts strengthened leadership and performance.

What does “regenerative” actually mean in your region, ecosystem or community?

As more institutions adopt regenerative agriculture language into policy and procurement, defining the term is becoming increasingly urgent—and increasingly complex.

On June 24 at 1 PM ET, ASBN and Forum for the Future are convening our monthly Policy Forum to explore lessons from states and communities driving agricultural transition.

Together, we’ll discuss:
🌾 Accountability and implementation frameworks
🌾 Regional flexibility and local context
🌾 Equitable participation in policy development
🌾 Practical lessons from state-level efforts in Colorado, California and Texas

The goal is not to create one universal definition, but to surface insights that can strengthen future policy and market approaches.

Join the conversation.

For years, ASBN members have shown up for the issues that matter—clean water, regenerative agriculture, healthy soils, safer chemicals, a more circular and equitable economy and a thriving democracy. They’ve signed letters, joined webinars and used their business voices to advocate for meaningful change.

Now, we have a dedicated space to do that work together. The ASBN Member Community on Slack is a hub where business leaders across our network can connect, share resources and job openings, ask questions and organize around the issues shaping our future.

📣 Join us TODAY for -policy office hours at 4 PM ET, where ASBN members can connect directly with our policy team, ask questions and discuss the latest policy developments.

Interested in joining the conversation? Become an ASBN member and gain access to a growing network of business leaders working together to drive meaningful change. 👉 asbnetwork.org/member-benefits

ICYMI: Senators Chris C***s (D-DE) and Jon Husted (R-OH) have introduced the Safer Choice Program Authorization Act—and more than 100 businesses, investors, trade associations, and public health organizations are urging Congress to pass it.

The signers speak for themselves: ECOS and Seventh Generation. EWG and Breast Cancer Prevention Partners. Naturepedic and Grove Collaborative. The American Cleaning Institute alongside small independent formulators. The City of Durham and the West Allis-West Milwaukee School District. Even household names like Clorox and Unilever are on the letter.

What unites them? Support for EPA's Safer Choice program—a trusted, science-based benchmark that helps identify safer products and drives innovation across the marketplace.

Despite its success, Safer Choice has never been authorized by Congress. This bill would provide the certainty businesses need to continue investing in safer chemistry.
