Ecolibrium3 is thrilled to announce that we are bringing Senior Planet programming to Lincoln Park. Starting this September, the Eco3 Hub will offer classes for older adults, including technology basics, health and wellness, and socialization.

If you’re an older adult and interested in these classes, we’d love to hear what you have to say. Please fill out a brief survey so that our course offerings best reflect the interests of the community.

This program is funded in part through AARP and Duluth Aging Support as part of the Duluth Age-Friendly initiative.

Thank you to everyone who attended our compost workshop at the farm last weekend. During this workshop, we toured the Eco3 Urban Farm compost site and discussed how to turn organic food scraps into compost. Stay tuned to hear about our next farm workshop as our growing season winds down!

Do you like to play with your food scraps or dirt? If so, you should join us at the Eco3 Urban Farm on August 29 from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. for a free workshop to learn how you can start your own active compost pile at home. We will tour the Ecolibrium3 Urban Farm compost site and talk about how we manage local food scraps and use them to amend the soil. For this event, we will conduct hands-on demonstrations that require attendees to wear long pants and closed-toed footwear. Registration is required; sign up at the link in the comments.

Since 2021, Ecolibrium3 has co-led the Duluth Age-Friendly Initiative in partnership with Duluth Aging Support—and one of the most consistent things we've heard from older adults in our community is this: if you don't have family nearby to lean on, the system often wasn't built for you.
That's why we're partnering with Zenith Health Advocates to launch something new for older adults navigating the second half of life without the traditional family support system. And we're starting by listening.

Come as you are. No agenda, no experts telling you what to do. Just a free, open hour to:

At the event, the facilitators will have materials and instructions for creating handheld crafts from buckthorn disks. Participants will be able to take home their creations to enjoy. Are you a ?
A solo ager is someone navigating the second half of life without the support traditionally provided by family—no nearby children, no partner, or family who aren't able to step in when it matters. It's more common than most people realize, and it looks different for everyone.

Since 2021, Ecolibrium3 has co-led the Duluth Age-Friendly Initiative in partnership with Duluth Aging Support —working to make our city a place where people of every age can live, connect, and thrive. One of the clearest things we've heard through that work: solo agers in our community need more support, more resources, and more connection. So we're doing something about it.
We're partnering with Zenith Health Advocates and Duluth Age-Friendly to host a free community conversation—a chance to meet other solo agers, share what's on your mind, and help us build something new together.

Tomorrow is our volunteer buckthorn removal event at the Eco3 Urban Farm! Join us Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. to help remove invasive buckthorn and protect native plants in our fungi forest. Volunteers of all skill levels are welcome! Our farm team will provide a brief training before we begin. Please wear long pants, a long-sleeved shirt, and closed-toe shoes. PPE will be provided. Sign up through the link in the comments!
