As our director Diane Christofore says, Nick Hernandez is the RAA’s board president as well as the CEO and Founder of Makoce Agriculture Development

We’ve been working alongside and in partnership with Nick Hernandez and later the Makoce Agriculture Development for about ten years, since even before our own establishment as a non-profit.

As we work towards national food systems change, regional partners like Makoce Agriculture Development are critical to understanding how the systems blueprint gets adapted to fit individual regions and communities.

We talk about "Ecosystems" a lot, but what exactly do we mean?
While they are interconnected and inseparable in a regenerative system, we like to think of our work existing within two ecosystems: the "Natural Ecosystem" and the "Business Ecosystem".

One is about the practices on the land, the raising of animals, the partnership between a farmer and nature; the other is about the systems and collective organizing we engage in to bring the outcomes of that natural ecosystem to be processed, distributed, and marketed.
