Look at this adorable duo hanging out in foster! Kittens under 8wks of age cannot be spayed or neutered. these 2 are currently unavailable until they are big enough!

🩷Our foster team does an excellent job giving them a safe place to grow big and strong!

The shelter can be crowded, chaotic and overwhelming for these babies! Foster homes give them a space to just be kittens! They get to run, play, nap, and socialize!

Fostering for DRHS is entirely free!! You get to set your timeline! And you don't need tons of space! A spare room or bathroom is more than enough for these babies! 🤩☺️

When you are the resident house hippo 🦛 and everyone loves you! Meet Zeus! This goofy boy is six years old and he can live with other dogs and is doing well with his foster moms cats! No kids. Zeus is a chonky boy who could benefit from a home with a dog savvy person to help guide him when he needs it. PS. How cute are his little teeth!

What started with a few days of learning has made a lasting difference for the dogs at DRHS. 🐾💙

Thanks to a PEDIGREE Foundation Program Development Grant, our team had the opportunity to learn from Dogs Playing for Life and bring structured playgroups to DRHS.

Now, our dedicated team hosts playgroups several times each week, giving dogs the chance to run, socialize, decompress, and simply be dogs — while helping us learn more about what each dog needs to thrive.

We’re incredibly grateful to Dogs Playing for Life and PEDIGREE Foundation for helping make this life-changing program possible!

these tiny kittens (0-5 weeks) need round the clock care, from newborns eating every 2 hours to 5 week olds learning solids. 💪

right now most of our bottle babies are going home with staff, staff who already give everything at work and are now bringing it home too.‼️🏠

you don’t need experience. you don’t need 2 months. even an overnight or a weekend helps.☺️

we’ll teach you everything and support you the whole way. supplies and vet care are on us, we just need your hands and home!

1 Cat vs 14 Kennels?!?‼️

Meet Fozzie Bear! Our sweet 5mo old resident who is taking up 14 kennels. 😱 Okay, so he's actually only physically taking up a double wide (2 kennels).

⬇️⬇️Here's why we can't use the others:

🚨 Fozzie Bear is ringworm + 🚨

Ringworm, a non-life threatening, fungal infection of the skin (similar to athletes foot) requires isolation due to its contagious nature. While it is zoonotic meaning it can spread to other species, including humans, it can be easily avoided by isolating the cat and keeping up proper cleaning and hygiene protocols. 🧼🧺

❤️We need your help!! One cat is taking up an entire room of critical holding space. With kitten season in full swing, we are still seeing high levels of cat intakes. We need a fungal fighting foster!! ❤️

Have an easy to clean bathroom? Need a cat in it????? Please!? 😂
