Hello Club Members!

See below for some exciting upcoming events at the Dubuque Water Sports Club.

Saturday, August 22: Kids Day
Details: Festivities start at noon! Bring the kids out for an afternoon on the water and a chance to learn to water ski. Whether it’s their very first time getting their feet wet or they’re ready to build some confidence behind the boat, we’ll have club members there to help get them up and skiing.
The club will provide hot dogs, condiments, and plates. Please bring a dish or snack to share. RSVP to Kubie at 563-590-8465 so we have an idea of how many future water ski champions we’ll be feeding!

Sunday, August 23: Toon Day
Details: Festivities start at noon. The Kubies will bring their pontoon and inner tube for a laid-back afternoon of cruising, tubing, and getting families out on the water. Come hang out, relax, and enjoy a day on the river!

Sunday, August 30: Annual Tournament
Details: Start time TBD. Come put all that summer practice to the test at our annual club tournament. Competition, questionable decisions, bragging rights, and good times are guaranteed. Rules are questionable and subject to change between now and the final round. 😆

LET THE SHOW BEGIN!!!!

The 4th of July only comes around once a year, so let's celebrate it together a day early!

Join us this Friday, July 3rd for an evening of great food, great company, and a front row seat to the airshow and fireworks.

What to bring:
Something to throw on the grill
A side dish or dessert to share (optional, but always appreciated)
Your favorite beverages
Lawn chairs
Bug spray
Anything else that helps you enjoy a warm summer evening
The club will provide:
Grille
Paper plates, napkins, plastic silverware
Garbage bags
Tentative schedule:
5:30 - Grill is hot (timing may shift slightly as people arrive)
5:45 - Airshow begins
Dusk - Fireworks
TBD - Campfire (this week's weather permitting)
A few friendly reminders:
The forecast looks very warm with a breeze - dress comfortably and stay hydrated.
Family and friends are welcome! If they haven't already signed a liability waiver this year, they will need to do so upon arrival. See Mark or Shawna for waivers.
As we've had to do in recent years, we may close the gate at some point to keep non-members out. If the gate is already closed when you arrive, feel free to open it to drive in, but please close it right behind you.

Let's kick off Independence Day weekend the best way we know how - with good friends, good food, and a great evening at the club.

IMPORTANT NEWS! DON’T MISS OUT

Registration for the Chris Parrish slalom clinic is now open. You can reserve your spot at the following link:

Please note the following details:

- Registration & Payment: This link is for reserving your time slot only. Payment of $80 per set should be made directly to Chris on the day of the clinic via Venmo or check.
- Scheduling: While you will select a specific time, please be flexible on the day of the event as the order may adjust based on who is ready on the dock.
- Gas: The registration fee does not cover fuel. Gas donations are highly encouraged.
- Dates: The clinic will be hosted at the Dubuque Water Sports Club on the afternoon of Saturday, June 20, and all day Sunday, June 21.

Our understanding is that club members are being given one week to book before this event is advertised outside of the club, so please register early to secure your spot!

THIS JUST IN!!

Membership forms are ready and will be mailed tomorrow morning (June 2nd). They are also attached to the previous message. As a reminder, they can be handed to Mark or Shawna, or be mailed to the club at:

Lastly, club membership and dues processing will be delayed between June 11 and June 22. Because of this, we will keep last year's members on all email correspondence until we are caught up on June 22.

Club members past and present!!! Check emails or inquire if you need forms to re-join if it’s been a few years!! Summer is underway and an email has been sent regarding memberships and important dates.
Can’t wait for a great summer on the water with a great group of people. Just some highlights from the email if you don’t get it in things to come:

June 20-21 (Father's Day weekend):
Chris Parrish (former slalom ski world record holder) will be at our club hosting a slalom clinic. There will very likely be additional skiers from the surrounding areas coming and joining us. For additional details and fees, reach out to Pete Osterberger.

July 3:
Come celebrate the 250th anniversary of 'Merica with us! We'll send out additional information as we get closer, but expect a cookout and campfire in addition to the airshow and fireworks. Friends and family are welcome to join a current paid member.

TBD (Sometime in August):
2nd annual kids' day! Last year was a huge success, and we're going to do it again. The tentative plan is kids in the morning then "big" kids (for "stupid stuff") in the afternoon. Please direct any questions about this to Kuby.

TBD (Late August or early September):
Annual slalom tournament! (I'm still arguing I won last year on a technicality of our winner not being a "paid" member - just kidding Logan!)

Please RSVP for the dinner this Friday Feb 6th at Morocco. Email was sent with details and also posted to facebook. We need final numbers to make a reservation asap. If we do not hear from you by latest tomorrow morning we will assume you aren’t attending.

Hello Club Members!

It's that time of year again where many of us don't see each other very often, so we'd like to formally invite all of you to the February 2026 edition of the Dubuque Water Sports Club Supper-Club Club.

Where: Moracco Supper Club
When: Friday, Feb 6, 2026, 7:00 pm (We encourage everyone to arrive by 6:30 pm for a round of drinks prior to being seated.)

We do need a headcount for the reservation, so please RSVP to the email you should have received by Monday, Feb 2 with names of those attending from your family and/or group.
