Welcome to the Tri-State Wind Symphony!
We are delighted to have you join us for an evening of Music by the River.

The Tri-State Wind Symphony is comprised of more than 100 volunteer musicians from throughout the Tri-State area, representing a wide range of ages, backgrounds, and musical experiences. What unites us is a shared passion for making music and serving our community.

Our mission is to celebrate and preserve America’s rich musical heritage, support music education and cultural enrichment, provide opportunities for musical expression, and encourage growth and collaboration among musicians of intermediate to advanced ability.

The Tri-State Wind Symphony is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization. Our concerts are made possible through the generous support of sponsors, donors, and audience members. Free-will donations are gratefully accepted at each performance, and our musicians participate without paying dues.

Thank you for supporting live community music and the volunteers who make these performances possible. We hope tonight’s concert brings you joy, inspiration, and a memorable musical experience.
Enjoy the concert!

Tonight’s Conductor

Tonight, you’ll hear music from all four of our conductors. Throughout the season, we’ve introduced their impressive backgrounds and accomplishments. Tonight, I’d rather tell you what they bring to our band.

One challenges us to play with greater precision. Another reminds us to find the beauty in every phrase. One inspires confidence and joy. Another brings energy, creativity, and heart.

Each conductor brings something unique. Together, they have helped shape not only the music you hear, but the culture of this band. They teach. They encourage. They challenge. They inspire. And because of their leadership, over a hundred musicians come together each week not just to play notes, but to create something meaningful for this community.

Please welcome Dr. Glenn Pohland, Dr. Nolan, Rodney Matthews and David Resnick.

The People Who Make the Music Possible
Every Tri-State Wind Symphony concert is the result of people saying yes. Some say yes by performing. Some by volunteering. Some by providing rehearsal and performance space. Some through financial support. And some simply by bringing a lawn chair, inviting a friend, and becoming part of the audience.
Together, they make Music by the River possible.

Community Partners
We gratefully thank the organizations that help provide rehearsal, performance, and support services throughout the season.

Audience Supporters
Every summer, people gather along the river to enjoy music, spend time with family and friends, and celebrate the arts.
Your attendance, applause, encouragement, and generous donations help keep the Tri-State Wind Symphony strong. Simply put, there would be no Music by the River without you. Thank you for keeping community music alive.

TSWS Volunteers
From musicians and conductors to librarians, section managers, board members, advisory members and countless behind-the-scenes volunteers, thank you for sharing your time, talents, and energy throughout the season.

Building the Future
The Tri-State Wind Symphony was built by people who simply said yes. For more than three decades, musicians, volunteers, community partners, supporters, and audience members have come together to create something larger than themselves. Each contribution matters. Each person belongs. Each yes helps build the future of community music. Thank you for being part of our audience, our season, and our future.
