ARTISTS KNOW that for a great show to go on, they rely on many more behind-the-scenes workers -- people who run sound boards, raise and lower curtains and do other essential tasks. The 2026 Jazz Goes to College scholarship, co-sponsored by the Detroit Jazz Festival Foundation and I.A.T.S.E. Local 38,đź’°awards $2,500 to undergrads studying theatrical stagecraft and music technologies.

At 4PM, unions across Detroit are coming together at Roosevelt Park for Detroit's May Day Rally—and Local 38 needs to show up strong.

This isn’t just another event.
