The Rhonda Walker Foundation five-year comprehensive Girls into Women Program focuses on five core pillars: College Prep, Career Development, Personal Development, , Health and Wellness, and Community Outreach and Cultural Awareness. Key components of our annual program include Camp I Can; Dress for Success; 24 Hour Girl Talk, year-round tutoring and SAT/ACT Prep for all teens; Mentoring, Job Shadowing, Internships and Scholarships for every graduating senior completing the five year program.

Hakuna Matata, Detroit!

The Circle of Life hit different for our girls.

Our Girls Into Women (GIW) and Empowering Her Success Academy (EHSA) participants stepped out for The Lion King at the DetroitOpera House - and for many of our girls, it was their first time experiencing a Broadway show and their first time walking through those doors.

The costumes. The music. The way the actors brought it ALL to life - our Gil’s were completely in awe, and honestly, so were we.

Big thank you to Broadway in Detroit, our amazing mentors, volunteers, and parents who chaperoned, and to the City of Detroit for welcoming us as part of Detroit Night for Arts, Culture & Entrepreneurship.

This is what we mean when we say we’re raising girls who see the world as theirs to explore. 🌍

For 23 years, our Dress for Success experience has helped Girls Into Women Program participants prepare for internships, summer jobs, and interviews by equipping them with professional attire and workplace etiquette skills.

Shoes, Boots, and Socks... oh my!

A huge thank you to Lace Up Detroit, who donated shoes and boots for the families at this year’s RWF Cares Christmas Party.

Your generosity brought warmth, comfort, and confidence to those who need it most—especially during this winter season. Every child received new boots and every adult new shoes.

Because of you, families at the Detroit Rescue Mission Ministries' Genesis House II walked away not only with essentials but with the reminder that their community cares. We are truly grateful for your support and compassion.
