Almost a year ago, a government shutdown abruptly disrupted SNAP benefits, putting grocery assistance at risk for more than 1.4 million Michiganders - 1 in 7 families.

United Way for Southeastern Michigan responded by launching the Every Family Fed Fund to help families keep food on the table.

With the support of generous donors, we awarded $670,000 to 21 emergency food partners who together served more than 230,000 families.

The Michigan Poverty Task Force was created to research, identify, and implement strategies to reduce poverty across the state.

United Way for Southeastern Michigan partnered with the Poverty Task Force to bring together people from across the region, share ideas, and discuss ways to help more Michiganders thrive
