Shaun is one of just 72 teens from across the country chosen for this prestigious national opportunity, representing First Tee - Greater Detroit in Minneapolis this summer.

The Game Changers Academy is a transformative five day leadership experience designed to empower participants through meaningful conversations around self-awareness, inclusive leadership, and community building. Throughout the week, Shaun will engage in interactive workshops, connect with peers from across the First Tee network, and develop the skills and confidence needed to create positive change in his community.

This opportunity recognizes young leader leaders who exemplify the values of First Tee both on and off the golf course, and we couldn’t be prouder to see Shaun represent our chapter on the national stage.

We’re proud to share that First Tee – Greater Detroit’s annual golf outing is helping create opportunities for young people across Metro Detroit through youth development programming and scholarships.

At First Tee – Greater Detroit, golf is more than a game. It’s a platform for teaching confidence, leadership, resilience, and life skills that help kids succeed both on and off the course. Funds raised through this event help ensure that every child has access to these transformative experiences, regardless of financial circumstances.

2026 Game Changer Classic to Benefit First Tee – Greater Detroit at Wabeek Country Club on June 29

We hosted a Drive, Chip, and Putt with Michigan PGA at Belle Isle Golf this past weekend, and it was awesome to see our participants and junior coaches compete!

One of our junior coaches, Sam Frishman, won his age group and had the highest point total out of anyone! Way to go, Sam!
