We’re excited to announce that Max, Jesse, and Amelia are stepping up to serve as co-leaders of the First Tee - Greater Detroit Emerging Leaders Committee!

The Emerging Leaders Committee brings together the next generation of local professionals in community leaders who are passionate about advancing our mission and creating greater opportunities for young people across Greater Detroit.

Together, this group is helping to:
⛳️ Advocate for First Tee - Greater Detroit’s mission
🤝 Build meaningful community and corporate relationships
💚 Grow fundraising and philanthropic support
🎉 Bring energy and new ideas to FTGD events
🌟 Develop the next generation of organizational and board leaders

We’re incredibly proud to celebrate Shaun, one of our First Tee - Greater Detroit participants, for attend attending the 2026 First Tee Game Changers Academy Honoring Joe Louis Barrow, Jr. in Minneapolis! ⛳️

The Academy brought together 72 young people, 16 coaches, and 8 alumni chaperones from across First Tee for an unforgettable week, focused on building, self-confidence, creating a sense of belonging, and developing meaningful connections.

For Shaun, this was more than an opportunity to travel and experience something new. It was a chance to connect with other young people who share his passion for golf, learned from incredible coaches and mentors, and grow as a leader both on and off the course.

We are grateful to First Tee for creating experiences that remind our participants just how much they belong and how much potential they have. We’re even more grateful to the supporters, coaches, and community members who make opportunities like this possible for young people in Greater Detroit.

On Saturday, October 3, golf enthusiasts will take on the ultimate golf challenge at Chandler Park Golf Course— 100 holes of golf in one day— all while raising critical funds to support the young people of First Tee - Greater Detroit

This isn’t just a marathon. It’s a commitment to helping young people build confidence, resilience, leadership, skills, and life, enhancing values through the game of golf.

Thank you once again to the Oakland University Men’s Golf, Oakland Women’s Golf, and the staff at OU Golf & Learning Center for hosting our participants for a short game clinic!

This is our 4th year bringing our kids to their practice facility to learn from their coaches and collegiate golfers! We truly appreciate the opportunity and support. The kids learned how to hit bunker shots, high flop shots, and bump and run shots!
