Congratulations DIVA! On your 2nd listening session hosted in Detroit on the intersection of domestic violence & the child welfare system.
Thank you Ebony Kennedy for preparing the beautiful & thoughtful gift boxes for our participants that are survivors of domestic Violence who have been brave enough to share their experience (s) with CPS.
All participants (Survivors of DV) will continue to remain confidential.

We appreciate and honor every voice that gave insight to their lives as Victims/ Survivors of domestic violence who had an experience with the child welfare system.
We will continue to support survivors/victims with resources and services as needed.

Stay tuned for our next public event later in the year.

Congrats to DIVA: Detroit Informing change with our Voices and Actions on hosting an EXTREMELY SUCCESSFUL Listening session with our National partners today.
We feel blessed and honored to serve as ambassadors for change representing Detroit in this work for Black & Brown families who have been re victimized by the Child Welfare System. It was slightly challenging to pull it off in a confidential way on Zoom BUT WE DID IT with Style & Grace. Thank you Ebony Epk Kennedy JALEX Design Edible Fruit Trays & Displays LLC for creating the beautiful shipping box gifts for our participants.
Everything about our gifts to participants came from the idea of ReImagining the Policies effecting Detroit by REMEMBERING OUR CHILDHOOD.
This experience really stretched us and added to our leadership styles. We learned a lot by planning & executing this event.

Thank you to the "Mandated Reporters" who participated. Thank you to Umi Shelia Hankins , Catlin Fullwood & Kalyn Fahie. Thank you to our fellow cohort members Ericka Murria, LaChetta Johnson & Renisha Udorji

Each participant submitted a song from their childhood.

2. September by Earth Wind & Fire
3. Candy Girl by New Edition
4. Candy Rain by Soul for Real
5. This is how we do it by Montell Jordan
6. Jump Jump by Kris Kross
