We would like to honor the life of Hope, which was far too short. Hope made a lasting imprint on our lives. Hope was 10-12 weeks old.
Hope was found by one of our foster families on Saturday. She was outside alone in a park, and it became quite the adventure trying to grab her. Hope was extremely emaciated and had a broken tail. Our foster family brought her to urgent care. Hope received fluids and antibiotics, and had a high fever. She was sent home and made it through the night, but the next day, she was unable to stand, so we had her go to the emergency vet. They admitted her, and late Sunday evening, Hope started to take a turn for the worst. She started having neurological symptoms, and together with the vet staff, the humane decision for euthanasia was made. Hope's foster was there with her. ❤️🩹
Hope was a sweet and optimistic kitten. She spent her time inside catching up on much needed rest, and trying to find the strength to eat. Hope had the cutest face, and we are so devastated that she couldn't live her entire life knowing the love and adoration she deserved.
Stories like Hope's don't always get shared. Cat rescue is often heartbreaking. We are so incredibly grateful for the foster family who saw something terribly wrong, and stepped up for a kitten who had no one else to turn to. Although it was too late to save Hope, we find solace in the fact that she knew human kindness for her last few days here on earth.
If you were moved by the deep compassion that Hope's foster family showed to her, we encourage you to make the same brave decisions if you see an animal in need. It takes all of us to make a difference.
