A huge thank you to EL CENTRAL Hispanic News for highlighting our Doll Dresser Appreciation Luncheon and the incredible volunteers who make our Doll Dresser Program so special.

Every hand-dressed doll is a reminder that someone in our community cares. Our doll dressers pour their time, talent, and love into creating gifts that bring comfort and joy to thousands of children each holiday season.

We're so grateful for this wonderful feature and, most importantly, for every volunteer who helps make our mission possible. Your kindness and generosity ensure that thousands of children experience the magic of the holidays each year.

On Thursday, June 18, Detroit Goodfellows hosted our annual Doll Dressers Luncheon! 💗

This year's theme, Made with Love, couldn't have been more fitting. You could truly feel the love in the room.

We spent the afternoon celebrating the incredible women, organizations, and community groups who generously volunteer their time, talents, and resources to hand dress dolls that will be included in our holiday packages for little girls ages 4 to 9 across Detroit. Each doll is thoughtfully made with care, and every stitch, ribbon, and detail reflects the kindness and dedication of the people behind them.

It was an afternoon filled with great conversation, laughter, creativity, and community, and we are so grateful to everyone who joined us.

A special thank you to 611 West Philadelphia for being such wonderful hosts, Brooks & Landry Fine Catering for the delicious lunch, Andrea of Obs Drea Creations for the beautiful flower bar, and our friends at MIgardenerr generously donating seed packets for our doll dresser appreciation bags.

To every doll dresser: thank you for helping us bring a little extra magic to the holidays for thousands of children each year. We truly couldn't do it without you.

We're incredibly grateful to the Delta Dental Foundation for their generous $25,000 grant in support of Detroit Goodfellows!

This funding will help provide critical dental care for children through our partnership with the Detroit Mercy Mobile Clinic Program, serving families at seven locations across metro Detroit.

A healthy smile can make all the difference, and thanks to partners like the Delta Dental Foundation, we're able to continue removing barriers to care and ensuring more children have access to the dental services they deserve.

Today, we celebrate the Fourth of July and the values of freedom, opportunity, and community.

We also recognize that this day carries different meanings for different people. While many celebrate, there are still communities working toward equity, justice, and the opportunity to fully share in the promise of America.

At the Detroit Goodfellows, we believe every child deserves to be seen, supported, and given the chance to thrive. As we reflect on what independence means, may we choose compassion, extend opportunity, and never punish hope.
