🔥 WHO IS YOUR JETHRO? 🔥
It is clear in Scripture that Moses was the man of God. God had called him, used him, and entrusted him with leading His people. Yet even Moses needed wisdom spoken into his life.
In Exodus 18, Jethro — Moses’ father-in-law — watched him trying to carry the burden of judging and leading all the people by himself and said:
"What you are doing is not good... you are not able to do it alone." (Exodus 18:17-18)
Jethro then encouraged Moses to raise up other godly people to help bear the load so that the work could continue in a healthy and sustainable way.
So here is my question to my fellow ministers, leaders, and servants of God:
WHO IS YOUR JETHRO?
Who has permission to speak wisdom into your life?
Who can tell you when you're carrying too much, moving wrong, or trying to do alone what God intended to be shared?
Sometimes we are so focused on being the Moses that we forget God may send a Jethro to help us endure and lead well.
Even great leaders need godly counsel.
"Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisers they succeed." — Proverbs 15:22
