Meet R***r… now lovingly known as Roo 💙

This sweet 6-year-old boy came to APWGSP as an owner surrender due to health issues in the family. While change can be hard, Roo’s story quickly turned into the happiest kind of new beginning.

As luck would have it, one of our previous adopters was looking for the perfect companion for 8-year-old APW alum Ruby — and Roo was exactly the pup they were hoping for! 🐾

Now Roo spends his days running, hiking, swimming, camping, and making friends at the dog park with his new sister Ruby and his two human sisters, ages 12 & 14. From not getting the exercise and adventure he needed to living the active, love-filled life every GSP deserves… Roo is absolutely thriving.

R***r, now Roo, has been adopted.

Happy Friyay!! 🎉

We’re over the moon to share that Susie, now Greta, has been adopted! 💛

Greta came to us from a rural New Mexico shelter, where she was sadly at risk of euthanasia due to overcrowding. Thanks to an incredible rescue partner, we were able to step in and give this special girl the second chance she deserved, just in time for her golden years.

And wow, what a gem she is. Greta is a true senior queen, the perfect mix of sweet and sassy. She knows exactly what she wants and isn’t shy about getting it! 😄

Special dogs like Greta deserve special homes, and she absolutely hit the jackpot with her new family. While we may not know much about her past, we’re certain her best days are ahead!

Now, she’s living the good life, enjoying long, leisurely walks, soaking up the sun, and keeping a watchful eye on every critter that enter her yard. Did we mention she also gets wrapped in her very own blankie? The ultimate pointer paradise! 🐾

Happy Friyay! 😄

Today we’re celebrating Poppie’s adoption day! Like many APW pups, Poppie came from Oklahoma, where she was found wandering as a stray with her sister, Jenny. Thankfully, both girls got one-way tickets to Colorado and never looked back.

Poppie first landed with wonderful a foster family in Colorado Springs before hitting the jackpot with her forever family. Now she’s a city girl 💅 living her best life in the Denver Highlands with her new brother, Kenai the shepherd.

These days, she’s fully embracing the Denver dog lifestyle: think dog parks, brewery patios, and plenty of sunshine from her favorite windowsill spot. She even recently met fellow APW alumni, Cash and Zuni, for a fun-filled brewery hangout. Talk about a pawty! 🐾🍻

Happy trails, Poppie! 💛

🎉 Happy Friyay! 😄

Today we’re celebrating Poppie’s adoption day! Like many APW pups, Poppie came from Oklahoma, where she was found wandering as a stray with her sister, Jenny. Thankfully, both girls got one-way tickets to Colorado and never looked back.

🎉 Happy FRIYAY!! Luna Has been adopted! 🥳

I’m Luna & I’ve been adopted! I came from Kansas at 8 weeks old with my canine mom, dad & four siblings. We were all instantly adopted but after several months in my new home it was discovered I’m not a fan of small kiddos. I went to a foster family who have another GSP, and we became the perfect duo. My brother Forrest and I run, wrestle, guard the property against tree rats and other intruders, take long naps in the sun and have so much fun together! I love my new home and all the love my family showers on me. Having my BFF Forrest makes life perfect!!

If you swipe to the last photo, you’ll see me as a puppy. No wonder I was adopted, I was a cutie from day one!

Then: A 7-year-old stray in Kansas.

Now: A Colorado girl named Pigeon! 🕊️ Inspired from Lady and the Tramp❤️

Pigeon’s journey brought her to our foster program, where her quirky personality shone bright. Now, she’s off to her forever home to live the ultimate CO life with her new brother, Oliver. Between hiking and paddleboarding, this girl is going to be very busy being loved!

Presley came to us from Missouri, where she had escaped her yard one too many times and was no longer welcome home. She was trying to survive the streets when our wonderful rescue partner, Dianne, stepped in to save her. Dianne got her to Colorado where she arrived skinny, but so so happy to have a soft spot to land!

From the get-go it was obvious Presley was a very special dog. She was bombproof around dogs and kids and never knew a stranger. Her derp faces were next level, and so was her goofy, sweet personality! We knew it wouldn’t take long for someone to fall for her, so when her foster family said they’d be interested in adopting her we weren’t surprised in the least!

Presley now spends her days in mountains, where she has access to hiking trails out her back door—a pointer’s dream! She also lives with two other pointers that have the proud title of “APW alum”. Her and her family are a pawfect match, and we couldn’t be happier for them.

🥳Happy FRIYAY! Poppy has been adopted!!

This girl started life with a breeder who did not appreciate her adventurous spirit. She kept breaking out to go hang with the chickens (honestly, bird-dog here), and the breeder decided she was “too much,” and was going to euthanize her!

With help from our rescue partner in New Mexico, APW brought her into foster care in Colorado. Once she arrived, Maise made her preferences VERY clear: she is a one dog household kinda gal 💅 We respected that. It just meant her perfect match might take a little longer.

Then the universe did its magic.....

One of our former adopters reached out — she had adopted Duck from us back in 2019. Duck was a wonderful dog, and when she passed away shefound her house way too quiet. She met Poppy and just like that, Poppy was all hers! They shared an instant connection and we all knew it was the perfect fit.

From almost losing her life to living her best one — Poppy is officially HOME.

Happy Friyay! 🐾 We have the best news to kick off your weekend: Finn has officially been adopted! 🥳

Finn’s journey has been quite the adventure. At just one year old, he found himself in a shelter in Jackson, WY. He was soon adopted by a young family traveling through WY on their way home to Arizona. However, once they settled in, they realized that raising both a one-year-old puppy and a one-year-old human was a bit more than they could handle!

They reached out to the shelter, who agreed that a GSP Rescue might be able to a help and the family reached out to APW. We knew exactly what Finn needed: a family ready to navigate the infamous "velociraptor stage" of a young pointer. 🦖

Luckily, we found the perfect match! His new family already has a 3-year-old male GSP and the skills to help Finn grow into the best version of himself. They knew exactly what they were getting into and were willing to put in the necessary work & training he needed! We couldn't be happier for Finn and his family!
