Looking for some warmth on this dreary, rainy day? MEET SULLIVAN (Sully for short 🤩)! Sully is looking for a new forever home and is wondering if you could be just the person he’s looking for!

🎾 Sully is a 5-year-old, 70-pound Pointer mix with a big personality, an even bigger heart, and a talent for making his people laugh! This affectionate goofball is part adventure buddy, part oversized lap dog. He loves chasing tennis balls, swimming, playing with other dogs, and soaking up attention from his favorite humans. After a busy day, he’s happy to curl up on the couch.

🧸 Sully has been a beloved family member since he was 12 weeks old. He’s grown up with young children and has been wonderful with them. He also loves other dogs of all sizes and has gotten along beautifully with the dogs he’s lived with. He’s friendly with visitors, too, although he may announce their arrival with a few barks before enthusiastically greeting them with kisses!

👨‍🎓 This smart boy is house-trained, crate-trained, and has completed professional obedience training. He knows sit, stay, down, come, and “find it.” He’s trustworthy loose in the house and isn’t destructive when left alone, although he’d much rather be with his people. He’s also a bit of a conversationalist, barking during playtime and occasionally howling along with sirens!

🐿️ Like many Pointers, Sully has a strong prey drive and loves chasing birds, squirrels, and rabbits, so cats are not a good match. He also has some leash reactivity, particularly toward other dogs, and may lunge when passing them. His family has worked on distraction and redirection techniques, and he responds well to commands like “find it” and “off.” He’s very social with dogs off leash, and his new family should be prepared to continue working on his leash manners.

🏡 Sully’s ideal home would be with active people who can provide consistent exercise, attention, and structure. A securely fenced yard would be a big plus! He’s lived happily with other dogs and young children and could be a wonderful addition to an active household that appreciates the energy and enthusiasm of a pointer.

🥳 Happy Friyay! Let’s start the weekend off right by celebrating sweet Nova!

🌾 Small town Kansas shelters don’t always see a lot of adoptions, and when you’re a “senior” lady, you often get overlooked in favor of younger pups. I was fortunate that the shelter director knew one of the APWGSP directors and reached out for help getting me out of the shelter and onto a better life! The director had a lot of fantastic friends who volunteered to help drive me the 10+ hours from Kansas to Denver. It was a long day for everyone, and the ladies were all incredibly nice and caring as I was handed off from one driver to the next.

💫 I arrived in Denver on a Saturday night where my foster dad, along with his APW alumni boy, Bart, took me home to start my new life! Foster dad decided I needed a new name, so I went from being Dixie to being a bright star: NOVA! Bart and I immediately became best friends, and I quickly learned the joys of living indoors, having the freedom to roam the house, going on long walks, enjoying regular meals, and taking in all the love I could soak up.

🏡 My new mom and dad found me on the APW website and applied to make me part of their family. When I arrived, we realized we have a two-story home, and I was initially really suspicious of the stairs! Plus, we have hardwood floors, which are a bit freaky since you can’t get up any speed on them. Mom and dad quickly began teaching me commands like sit, wait at street corners, and other basic social skills. I’m great on a leash, so our daily walks around our ‘hood are super enjoyable for everyone. We have a huge yard, and I love to lay in the sun after checking the perimeter for any small critters. As a senior girl, I had some lumps and bumps taken off, and we were all thrilled to learn there was nothing to worry about! I also had my teeth cleaned, so now they’re all pearly white and pretty. 😄

🎉 From feeling forgotten in a small shelter to being loved, cherished, and incredibly spoiled, it truly DID take “a village” to get me where I am today!

🐾 Meet Me Monday: Spots! 🐾This sweet, easygoing 1-year-old boy is new to All Points West GSP Rescue, and we’re already head over heels for him. While we’re still discovering all of his fun quirks while he settles in, everything we’ve learned so far points to one incredible GSP mix!

🏡 Spots’s absolute favorite kind of day involves plenty of cuddles with his foster family and endless time in the yard sniffing out critters. He gets along great with other dogs - especially when toys are involved to help burn off that young-dog energy! Plus, he comes with a history of doing well with both kids and canine pals, and his food motivation makes him a fun partner for learning.

💙 Like many pups who have spent time in a busy shelter, Spots arrived feeling a bit stressed from weeks in a kennel setting and has shown some mild resource guarding around food (just a gentle growl, with no escalation). He’ll thrive with an adopter who understands shelter transition and is ready to support him with positive, consistent training as he gains confidence. During his time at the Humane Society of Boulder Valley, Spots was an absolute favorite! If you are local to Boulder or the surrounding area, HSBV will serve as a great training partner!

🎉 HAPPY FRIYAY! Today we’re celebrating a very special girl whose story proves that age is truly just a number and that second chances lead to the absolute best forever homes. Meet Olive! 🫒

🌾 Olive’s journey started at a rural Kansas shelter where adoptions can be hard to come by. Even though she is a gorgeous purebred GSP, being 7 years old meant her chances of finding a local family were slim. But fate - and rescue teamwork - had other plans! Thanks to our trusted rescue friend Amanda Wise, APWGSP was able to pull Olive from the shelter and bring her right into our rescue fold.

🏡 Once in Colorado, Olive landed with an amazing foster dad where she got her very first taste of the Good Life. With a foster brother around to show her the ropes, Olive settled right in and learned what being a cherished pup was all about while waiting for her people to find her.

🩷 It didn’t take long for her perfect match to appear. Having recently lost their beloved GSP girl, Olive’s adopters were looking for a dog to fill the void in their lives - and Olive did just that, helping heal their hearts from day one.

👑 Today, Olive is a spoiled, cherished “only child” living her absolute best life! She’s spending her days enjoying her big backyard, soaking up endless snuggles, going on great walks, and swimming in all the love her new world has to offer. We love you, Olive!

✨ Meet Me Monday: Annie! ✨

💝 Meet Annie, who is available for adoption in Colorado through APW! This joyful, easygoing 4-year-old girl is a couch potato at heart who loves nothing more than being wherever her people are. When she isn’t snuggling indoors, playing gently with stuffed toys, or learning new tricks for treats, she’s coming alive outdoors - Annie is an incredible swimmer who would happily spend hours at the lake, and she loves roughhousing with dogs of all sizes!

🏠 Annie is fully house-trained, crate-trained (she sleeps soundly in her crate at night and when left alone), and rarely barks. She has completed extensive professional training and knows sit, stay, down, place, shake, and kennel up! She responds well to leash corrections and will do best with a secure yard or boundary collar to safely manage her strong, classic GSP prey drive.

🐾 As a pup who has spent her whole life as an adored family member, Annie is wonderfully socialized with adults, visitors, workers, and daycare staff who all love her. Due to a documented bite incident with a child (where trainers and family were unable to identify a specific trigger), Annie must be placed in a home without young children - she will thrive best with adults or respectful older teens who can provide a calm, consistent routine. This is a firm requirement and not a case-by-case consideration. Any serious applicant is welcome to review and discuss her full behavioral history with us prior to meeting her!

🥂🎉 Happy FriYaY from APW! Today we have the privilege of celebrating beautiful Liz Taylor and her adoption story!

🦴 I arrived in Colorado known as Phoenix, along with my mate and our five Littles who were just 8 weeks old. I was very protective of my babies, but I also really enjoyed personal attention, living in a home, and being fed regularly. We were all fostered together, and the Littles quickly found their forever homes!

❤️‍🩹 My mate was also adopted shortly after our arrival, and then it was finally my turn to find my happily ever after family. From a crowded Kansas shelter where I was worried about my babies to living an amazing life in the mountains outside of Denver, my life took a total 180!

👸🏻My mom decided my new start deserved a brand-new name, so I’m now known as Liz Taylor since I have beautiful black hair and I am totally gorgeous!

🥹 I have GSP sisters, a mom and a dad who love me to the moon and back, a huge property to run, and so many adventures and truck rides to enjoy. Life is pretty darn good, and I’m embracing every element of my new and wonderful world!

🐾 MEET OUR SWEET GIRL, MOLLY, available for adoption through APW! 🐾

🎾 This is Molly, a nearly 2-year-old GSP mix who is equal parts sweet pup and adventure-ready best friend! Molly came to All Points West GSP Rescue after her original family could no longer care for her, and now she’s looking for her forever home to match her fun-loving energy.

🌊 This girl is always up for anything! Whether it’s going for a long walk, playing a game of fetch with her favorite rope ball, or diving right into the lake for a swim, Molly is a natural in the water and thrives in the great outdoors.

🎓 She’s also already got fantastic manners under her belt! Molly is fully house-trained and knows sit, come, down, leave it, and has reliable recall. She is e-collar trained and loves spending time exploring off-leash, which works out great since she still pulls a bit on a regular leash!

🏡 When it’s time to rest, Molly is crate trained and handles a few hours alone like a champ. She might let out a little whine or bark while settling into her crate, but she stays calm overall, hasn’t been destructive at home, and has never tested her fenced yard.

💜 Molly takes a moment to warm up to new faces and will voice her uncertainty at first, but with a little patience, she comes around and adjusts wonderfully to a consistent group of people. We think she would thrive best with active adults or a family with older kids who can keep up with her energy while giving her the space to settle in at her own pace.

🐾 Happy FriYaY, APW family! We are beyond thrilled to share that our sweet girl Juniper has officially found her forever home!

💖 Juniper was originally adopted from our rescue back in 2022 and was loved dearly by her owner. When severe health challenges made it impossible for her owner to keep caring for her, Juniper returned to our rescue earlier this year. Surrenders are never easy, but we promised her that another incredible chapter was waiting just around the corner.

🏙️ Luckily, Juniper didn’t have to wait long at all before the absolute perfect family came into her life! Now, this stunning GSP is living her absolute best life as a city girl in Denver.

☀️ On any given day, you can find Juniper soaking up the sun on her favorite local brewery patios, exploring the trails on long walks and hikes, or making friends as a regular at doggy daycare. She is showered with all the love in the world, and it’s crystal clear she loves her new life just as much as her family loves her.
