Leon Leon is an innovative gallery that intentionally challenges limitations. We challenge our artists. We challenge our audience. We challenge the art market.

A nonprofit arts organization that faithfully promotes the exciting and innovative art that is currently being created in the Denver community and beyond while serving our community through educational We provide an environment for artistic exploration that is free from the market pressure and economic constraints of commercial galleries. Leon is both a non-profit gallery and creative space dedica

ted to mentoring emerging artists across multiple disciplines. We aim to nurture and promote each artist, assist them in the development of their practice, and connect them with greater and more ambitious career opportunities. We provide our local community with a welcoming environment in which they can explore and discover the artistry of creative individuals from Denver, and beyond. The impact that Leon has made within the Denver community over the past six years is impressive and perhaps surprising, considering its humble beginnings. Leon continues to provide Denver with a physical space and socially engaged community that has a particular exuberance. Patrons have likened the energy of Leon’s events to those of NYC’s SoHo of the 70’s and 80’s, the salons of Montmartre during the days of early Modernism, Cabaret Voltaire in Zurich during the formative days of Dada, or the groundbreaking Ferris gallery in LA during the 60s. The level of influence and interest that Leon has garnered since 2011 is due to the owner’s passion and dedication to the arts and culture of our community and our time. Owners Eric Gustaf Nord and Eric Robert Dallimore, are enthusiastic supporters of local art and culture in Denver. We invite you to stop in to see some of the most creative artists and innovative exhibitions in the city. Board Members:

New exhibit alert! Join us for the opening reception of Sculpting Sound on Saturday, April 25th.

Sculpting Sound features new sonic artworks by local visual and installation artists. The best part? You're invited to interact and experiment with the pieces yourself. These works will then transform into a living 'orchestra' for a series of newly commissioned pieces performed by The Playground Ensemble.

The exhibition runs through June 6th, culminating in two concerts premiering the commissioned music on May 30th, followed by an improvised music concert on May 31st.

Dans Le Rêve Artist Statement:

Grief has changed me forever, and it took years to understand that this transformation does not have to be tragic. Some of the most beautiful change emerges when we allow ourselves to sit with our darkest thoughts and feelings. Melancholy has long fueled my work, and I have learned to embrace it as both teacher and companion.

These pieces speak to a story of loss and of growth—of what remains after absence reshapes us. I hope that those who have lived alongside grief can see themselves reflected here, and feel both seen and understood in its quiet beauty.

My parents supported me deeply in my artistic life, and this exhibition is dedicated to them. I lost my father two years ago, and my mother seven years before that. When the weight of loss becomes too heavy to hold, I turn inward through my art. In those moments of deep immersion & creation has carried me forward—it has, in many ways, saved me.

Artist Bio:

Sandi Calistro is a Denver-based artist working across painting, tattooing, and murals. Born in New Britain, Connecticut, and raised in the wooded landscapes of western Maine, her relationship with art has unfolded over a lifetime. At fifteen, she painted signs for local businesses and began exploring tattooing—early gestures toward a practice rooted in both craft and storytelling.

Years later, after establishing a well-known tattooing career, her focus turned more fully toward painting and the exhibition of fine art. Her work centers on the female figure as vessel and symbol, weaving themes of the sacred feminine and humanity’s enduring bond with the natural world. These figures inhabit dreamlike realms where tattoo iconography, religious imagery, and pop culture converge, forming intimate narratives that exist somewhere between memory, myth, and reverie.
