This chilly Wednesday, we'd like to warmly welcome Julie Murphy to our Board of Directors!

Julie recently stepped down as Director of the Colorado Energy and Carbon Management Commission (ECMC), which she guided through a period of historic transformation. Her career also includes service as Assistant Director for the Colorado Department of Natural Resources, Director of the Oil and Gas Conservation Commission, and Assistant Attorney General representing the Commission and the Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety.

Julie, thank you for bringing your extensive policy, technical, and legal expertise in natural resource management to our board!

For more than 40 years, Kappa Tower has given Denver seniors on limited incomes an affordable place to call home. The six-story building was opened in 1984 by the Denver Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., and it remains a cornerstone of Denver’s African-American community today. Like many aging affordable housing properties, it had limited funds for major improvements.

That’s where we came in. Through the Colorado Energy Office Weatherization Assistance Program, EOC invested approximately $310,000 in upgrades, including a new central heating system, cooling tower repairs, efficient lighting and water fixtures, and new refrigerators.

This summer, we hit the road across Colorado to host five in-person trainings for our Bill Payment Assistance Program partners ahead of the 2026–2027 program year! It was such a joy to reconnect with longtime partners and to welcome new colleagues into the EOC network.

Our program year officially kicked off this month, and we couldn’t be more excited for a great year of serving participants together. Thank you to every partner who joined us 💙

EOC was a proud sponsor of the 2026 Women's Energy Network Colorado members-only gala earlier this October. The gala featured a progressive dinner and mentorship from 14 executive leaders in the energy space, including our very own CEO Jennifer Gremment. Our VP of Community Programs & Communications Chelsea Rosty, who serves on the WENCO board, and our Director of Community Programs Amy Brown were also in attendance ✨

Kimberly is Director of U.S. Onshore Policy and External Affairs for Oxy, bringing more than 25 years of experience in public policy, regulatory strategy, and community engagement. She leads Oxy's Environmental Justice Policy Team and serves on boards including the Colorado Energy Foundation, Girls Inc. of Metro Denver, and the Colorado Environmental Justice Task Force.

Last week, our staff came together to celebrate wins from this past program year alongside Hispanic Heritage Month, enjoying delicious pan dulce from Emmanuel's Bakery in RiNo and playing an EOC-themed version of Lotería, with cards featuring La Factura de Energía, El Panel Solar, El Corazón Cálido, and more 🌞🏠❤️

It was a memorable way to honor a culture that means so much to our staff and to our state as we head into a new program year. ¡Gracias a todos for making it so special!
