A message from our VP of Development, Michele Kilen:

Please join us in celebrating 10 years of Ethan Hemming as Warren Village's President & CEO!

As we celebrate Ethan’s 10-year anniversary, I’ve had the privilege of helping put together a scrapbook filled with messages from donors, partners, community leaders, staff, and friends.

Reading through these reflections has been incredibly moving. Again and again, people spoke not only about Ethan’s leadership and impact on families, but about his kindness, humor, humility, and the way he makes people feel seen and valued.

I can honestly say I would not be at Warren Village if Ethan were not our CEO. Over the last five years, he has challenged me to grow as a leader, encouraged me to step outside my comfort zone, and believed in me in ways that have shaped both my career and who I am as a person.

He also makes this work fun. In the middle of big challenges and ambitious goals, Ethan brings humor, perspective, and humanity every day, and that kind of leadership is rare.

Congratulations, Ethan, on 10 incredible years leading Warren Village. Your impact on this community, and on so many of us personally, is immeasurable.

Please join us in congratulating Ethan Hemming on 10 years of leadership at Warren Village!

Neema, one of our wonderful residents, talked with Grace Bastidas of The Mommune about her path to Warren Village, healing her inner child, and the special way she keeps her own mother's memory alive.

The Mommune "explores the nuances of motherhood through intimate conversations with moms across the country," specifically how moms form support networks.

Thank you to Neema for bravely telling your story, and to Grace for amplifying such an important topic!

Ever wondered what a board member does at a nonprofit?

Nicole Marquez knows the job intimately. At the end of March, she finished her second term -- equal to six years -- on the board at Warren Village.

We sat down to ask her what it's really like. What inspired her to join the board? What advice does she have for prospective board members? And what is she most proud of accomplishing with Warren Village?

This past Friday, the DMV came to us!

Thanks to the DMV2GO program and nine months of behind-the-scenes work by our Family Advocate Janesa, 16 Warren Village residents at Alameda were able to access DMV services right on-site. No waiting for an appointment or transportation needed!

In all, 13 residents walked away with a driver's license or state ID. Three adolescents got their very first ID ever. And one resident can now finish her education this summer because having an ID unlocks the tests she needs to take.

This event was personal for Janesa. She and Saundra, the resident pictured here, who is currently living at our Alameda campus, had been working toward her driver's license together for nearly two years.

DMV2GO will be back at Alameda in November. We are thrilled about this partnership and can't wait to do it again!

Ever been in a 360 photo booth? Warren Village families have, thanks to our friends at United!

United brought the party to our first Family Night of the year at the Alameda campus: not only did everyone have a chance to step inside the unique photo booth (pictured in our gallery), they also were treated to face painting, bubbles, potato sack races, games, crafts, and a full dinner.

These are the kinds of nights that our residents often say are the most memorable they have during their time at Warren Village. It was a night of so much joy and made our families feel seen and genuinely celebrated by the community.

Thank you, United Airlines, for continuing to show up for our families in such a meaningful way. We are so grateful for this partnership! 💙

Warren Village made its Colfax Marathon debut this weekend, and our staff crushed it! 😤

Several team members ran on behalf of the single-parent families we serve, tackling the 5K and the half marathon. Among them were:

🏃 Lauren Aylward, Program Evaluation Specialist
🏃 Hunter Wagner, Resource Coordinator
🏃 Shardai Perry-Miller, Institutional Giving Manager
🏃 Tara DeAugustine, Director of the Gilpin Early Learning Center

We hope this is just the first of many years on the starting line! Congrats to all who finished this challenging race!

And by the way ... are you a runner? If you plan to tackle the Marathon next year, consider supporting Warren Village, will ya?

Chelsea is a Warren Village resident, full-time veterinary technician, and single parent. When she arrived, her family was carrying trauma. Her three young kids needed more than just a roof over their heads.

At Warren Village, her five-year-old son Liam receives weekly play therapy on-site, helping him process grief in a safe, nurturing space without adding a cross-city commute to Chelsea's stretched schedule.

The results have been encouraging for Chelsea.

"My kids have gone through a lot. They've been through trauma. And ever since we've been able to come together and be stable, they've come out of their shell. It's like the light has come back into their eyes."

This , we celebrate all our families doing hard work to focus on their mental health, and all the wonderful clinicians that help them get there!

Warren Village Teacher Feature: Victoria Ibarra!

For , we're profiling one amazing Warren Village teacher each day. Today, meet Victoria Ibarra!

Victoria, currently an infant teacher at our Alameda campus, was born and raised in Westminster. Victoria has worked in early childhood education since 2022, mostly with infants and toddlers.

"I have wanted to work in education for as long as I can remember," Victoria says. "I learn more with this job every single day and hope to continue to grow here!"

In her free time, she loves crocheting while watching new movies and TV shows. She also loves exploring the city and finding new things to do with her sister and friends. She lives with her sister and two cats, Henry and Rajah.

Victoria, thank you for all you do to care for the littlest ones at Warren Village! We are so grateful to you and all of your fellow educators.

Warren Village Teacher Feature: Cindy Green!

Cindy is a teacher at our Gilpin Early Learning Center. Here's something you might not know about her: she used to be a hula and Maori dancer!

"Music is always there for me," she says. "For happy, sad, mad times."

When she's not in the classroom, you can usually find Ms. Cindy at a concert or hanging out at home with her dog, Murdoc. But she says many of her favorite moments happen right here at Warren Village.

"Watching them learn or become independent in the skills we have taught them" is what makes every day worth it, Cindy says.

Thank you for bringing your energy and heart to our kids every single day, Ms. Cindy!
