NeighborWorks Weeks celebrates partnerships that drive impact on the local level for families and individuals in affordable housing communities.

This week we spotlight how together as a network we strengthen opportunities for families across the state of Colorado and the nation.

Thank you to NeighborWorks America for setting incredible standards for our practice in housing and resident services. This year alone we have provided over 1,000 supportive service meetings to residents through our community navigators. We will continue to strengthen our five pillars of service with your support!

Meet our Director of Asset Management Genna Blanton ✨

Genna brings 14 years of experience in property management, including the last five years in asset management. Her background spans both site-level operations and portfolio-level analysis, giving her a strong understanding of how day-to-day decisions impact long-term financial performance. She has supported investor reporting, financial modeling, and portfolio stabilizations, with a focus on improving occupancy, managing expenses, and identifying risks early.

We are lucky to have her on our team 🎇

The Globeville Community Event groundbreaking at 4965 Washington St. was a powerful celebration of what is possible when community, partnership, and purpose come together 🤝

Neighbors, partners, and local leaders gathered to mark this exciting step toward expanding access to resources and affordable housing in Globeville. We were honored to be a part of and hear remarks from community stakeholders, followed by a beautiful Aztec land blessing that grounded the moment in healing, history, and hope.

For the first time in approximately one hundred years, Globeville will have a Denver Public Library branch, reflecting a shared commitment to invest in communities and create opportunities for residents to thrive for generations. We are excited to see the construction take root for this new development.

This Black History Month, we honor leaders like Rev. Channing Phillips who championed affordable housing and social justice, helping drive the development and rehabilitation of thousands of affordable homes in D.C.’s Shaw community.

Rev. Channing Phillips. Phillips was a civil rights leader who dedicated his life to advocating for fair housing and social justice for all. Phillips served as Senior Minister of the historic Lincoln Temple Congregational Church in DC and as a member of the executive board of the Model Inner City Community Organization, a grassroots group founded by Rev. Walter Fauntroy, that sought to provide better housing, jobs, and other basic services to the people who lived in Shaw. Phillips also led the Housing Development Corporation, spearheading efforts to develop and rehabilitate more than 8,000 units of affordable housing in Shaw alone (© micasa-inc.org).

After completing the race, they’ll celebrate with food, music, and a visit to the Colfax Fly Feet tent where they will receive 2026 Colfax Fly Feet participation gifts.

At Rocky Mountain Communities, we believe that informed residents are empowered residents. That’s why we are looking forward to welcoming Humana to Arroyo Village for an educational session about Medicare benefits.

Residents will have the opportunity to connect with licensed agent Elsa Moreno Navarro, ask important questions, and learn how to make the most of their coverage, all over a shared meal and supportive conversation.

Thank you, Humana, for helping our community stay informed and healthy!

This morning, Resident Services toured the Family Preservation Center at Mile High Behavioral Healthcare in Aurora. We’re invigorated by the work happening in our community to support vulnerable individuals in an affordable, accessible way. Our organizations share aligned values and a passion for inspiring hope through trauma-informed services and housing stability.

A strong community is a healing community, connected to resources, education, and opportunities for growth at every level. We’re looking forward to connecting our residents with behavioral health and adolescent services. Thank you, Amber and Anna, for welcoming us and for the tour of your incredible facility!
