Our college mentors are ready to help you apply for college, help you right those scholarship and college essays and more. We host college readiness workshops every 2nd and 4th Sundays every month. We’re excited to be a part of the A*M Coalition, convened by Teach For America Colorado.

The A*M Coalition is hosting a free online event on July 14th for Colorado high school graduates who’ve been accepted to a postsecondary institution but have not yet enrolled. They will hear from current students and connect with staff members who can support them through the transition. Students will be able to connect with: Adams State University, Colorado State University - Pueblo, Community College of Denver, Front Range Community College, and Metropolitan State University of Denver

Hello Everyone -- Here's a summer program invite to our 6th-12th grade BIPOC students from a nonprofit organization DPS partners with. Their director is a former, talented DPS teacher, and Ja'Brel below is a much admired former student.

Dear Families,

The SCD Enrichment Program (SCDEP) cordially invites your student(s) (grades 6–12) to our annual, 100% free Summer Camp from July 13th to July 17th, 2026 (8:00 AM – 4:00 PM) at the Auraria Campus.

This camp offers an incredible opportunity for students to experience life on a college campus, build peer relationships, and collaborate directly with professional BIPOC mentors in fields like STEM, Visual Arts, and Leadership.

Our camp features three pillars designed to support your student's academic growth and personal wellness:

🔬 The Brilliance Exchange Pilot: Students will partner with industry professionals and post-secondary professors to design their own innovative projects. On Friday, July 17th, a panel of experts will judge their work. Parents can use this high-level feedback to aid in future formal gifted and talented identification.
🌱 The Brilliance Within Institute: Alongside academic projects, students will learn about the social and emotional wellness of being a BIPOC advanced student. This curriculum is designed to build unwavering confidence and pride in their identity.
🤝 Near-Peer Mentorship: BIPOC college mentors will work hand-in-hand daily with students, establishing supportive relationships and helping them navigate the path to higher education.

By the end of the week, every student will leave confidently answering the question: "What makes me brilliant?"

HELP SHAPE THE NEXT GENERATION OF BRILLIANCE

SCD Enrichment Program is seeking BIPOC professionals, professors, entrepreneurs, artists, engineers, healthcare professionals, educators, researchers, and community leaders to support our Gifted Summer Camp Intensive at Auraria Campus on July 13–17, 2026.

Many of our students are gifted and advanced learners who have incredible ideas, talents, and potential, but rarely have opportunities to learn directly from professionals who share their backgrounds and experiences. This is your chance to help students connect their passions to future careers while showing them what success can look like in the real world.

We’re currently recruiting volunteers in the following talent areas:

• STEM Innovation
• Leadership
• Language Arts
• World Cultures
• Visual Arts & Creative-Productive Thinking
• Musical Abilities
• Moving Your Body (Performing Arts, Dance, Sports & Psychomotor)

Volunteer Opportunities:

PROFESSIONAL MENTORS
Work with up to three students in your area of expertise, help them develop a project, and share the professional thinking and problem-solving strategies used in your field.

We’re so grateful for the continued support of Prosperity Denver Fund and the incredible contributions they give to nonprofits like ours. Congratulations to all of the other deserving recipients! 🎉

Funds Awarded to 21 Local Nonprofits and 192 Students Prosperity Denver Fund announced today that it will distribute approximately $630,000 to 21 Denver nonprofits as part of the spring distribution cycle. This funding expands support for students pursuing college, credentials, apprenticeships, a
