“All things share the same breath – animals and trees, birds and human beings, insects and fish.” As the breath of life unites us all, can we be united with all of life?

During the month of June, the peak of the solar year in the northern hemisphere, we invite our minds to remember how all life is connected.

Our theme this month is All Life Shares the Same Breath.

🍃Grounding Statement:
Breathing in, all life
Breathing out, same breath

☀️Join us on Tuesday, 6/23 from 6:00-8:00 pm in Delray Beach for our Summer Solstice Celebration!

Meet Nicole 🌎

“I am Nicole, a passionate gardener and student of nature’s intuitive wisdom. I feel deeply that my purpose is in stewardship of plants, and envision communities where every yard is used to grow food so that neighbors can share the abundance with each other, where we plant as many native plants as we can in order to provide refuge to the native pollinators, birds, and other wildlife. To ensure I work towards this vision every single day I founded my garden installation business, Garden of Eating

I am one of the Eco-Healing Team Managers at Soil and Soul, focused on all things related to Earthwork and environmental education. I am honored to be a part of this journey where we are co-creating something beautiful, propagating plants, feeding our soil and regenerating it to a healthier state, and connecting our community to the land along the way.

Mindfulness is important to me so that I can remain present in each moment, aware of the miracle of existence.

My favorite ways to move mindfully are through dance and yoga. Tapping into the flow state, sense of time is lost, and I notice every sensation passing through my body. “

What is Stillness?

At the heart of Mindfulness Circles are stillness exercises often referred to as meditation. Stillness is the concentration of attention. It cultivates a deep connection between the mind, body, and spirit. Stillness paves the way for a heightened awareness, enabling participants to experience trust and connection with themselves and the collective.

The quality of our performance depends on the quality of our rest. The purpose of stillness, also known as meditation, is to rest the mind. Resting the mind through stillness allows it to perform better outside of stillness.

Join us as we rest the mind:

Meet Jennifer 💚

“Hello! My name is Jennifer. I am an entrepreneur and I have served my community as a tax preparer and an immigration document preparer since 2001. I love helping people and spending time with my family.

I serve as a Haitian-Creole interpreter for Soil and Soul. Mindfulness is important to me because it provides a safe space and tranquil recollection.

I enjoy the spine stretches from the sky to the ground.”

Join Jennifer on Tuesdays in June at circles at The Hive 🌱

What is mindful movement in circle?

Mindful movement is enjoyable and energizing. We don’t strain or force anything. We move and stretch in harmony with holistic well-being.

Mindful movement is moving our body together with our mind and spirit in 3 ways:

1. We link our attention to our breath – our breath being our spirit.

2. We synchronize our movements with our breath and with each other.

3. We link and sync body, mind, and spirit.

We count breaths, not reps…for example, 3 rounds of breath instead of 3 reps.

We invite movements that everyone can do offering adjustments for limitations in ability and mobility.

Meet Sasha ❤️

“I have been an educator for about 10 years, and currently teach at Cocoplum Nature School. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Speech and Language Disorders and a Master’s degree in Education Policy and Leadership. I love to learn, dance, travel, spend time in nature, and spend time with my loved ones. I also love good conversation, good food, and good music.

I’ve had multiple roles with Soil and Soul over the past 4 years. In the past, I’ve helped with their eco-healing project at the Tiger Territory Urban Education Garden, acted as a co-facilitator in family mindfulness circles, and managed the organization’s social media platforms. I currently work with Soil and Soul as a childcare manager. I schedule childcare facilitators to care for and play with the children of families who take the time to care for themselves.

Mindfulness is important to me because it keeps me grounded and reminds me that I can just be, with the only responsibility in that moment being my own well-being.

My favorite mindfulness movement is a z sit with a slight backward bend.”
