Sister Cities of Delray Beach To promote greater respect, understanding and cooperation through cultural and educational exchanges.

Our Ties:

In the early years of the 20th century, Delray Beach's "Yamato Colony" was established by a few Japanese farmers. Among them was George Sukeji Morikami whose hometown was Miyazu. George later donated his land to Palm Beach County and today it is home to The Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens. Current activities include:

Providing books to the Moshi library

Participation in the Sister Cities International Young Artists Competition with two local international winners

The committee is responsible for developing a work program and raising funds to support the Sister Cities Program

🌍Give Your Child a Passport to Leadership This Summer! 🌍

Is your child between the ages of 11–15? The Sister Cities Youth Leadership Program is a unique opportunity to help them develop leadership skills, build confidence, make new friends, and gain a greater understanding of the world around them.

Through hands-on activities and cultural exploration, students will discover the traditions and customs of our Sister Cities in:
🇯🇵 Miyazu, Japan
🇹🇿 Moshi, Tanzania
🇭🇹 Aquin, Haiti
🇮🇹 Pesaro, Italy
This engaging program encourages communication, teamwork, cultural awareness, and leadership—skills that will benefit them for years to come.

The 2026 Sister Cities Youth Leadership Program is back for its second year this summer!

This exciting program for ages 11–15 introduces youth to leadership, cultural awareness, global friendship, and community connection through the cultures of our four Sister Cities:

🇹🇿 Moshi, Tanzania
🇭🇹 Aquin, Haiti
🇮🇹 Pesaro, Italy

Students will explore leadership skills while learning how culture, communication, and global understanding help shape tomorrow’s leaders.

🇮🇹 Did you know that Pesaro, Italy, is a Sister Cities of Delray Beach Sister partner? 🇮🇹

This international partnership was officially established in 2015 to strengthen cultural understanding, friendship, education, and global connections between Delray Beach and the beautiful coastal city of Pesaro, Italy. Since then, the relationship has continued to inspire cultural exchange, community engagement, and meaningful international relationships.

This October 2026, Sister Cities of Delray Beach will proudly spotlight Italy during our annual fundraising celebration, "Ciao Italy!"
