The practice of mindfulness is a combination of attention, purpose and presence with an attitude of neutral acceptance. Focusing on the present moment gives me a sense of being grounded. My mind observes and appreciates the subtle aspects of life around me ~ fragrance, sensation, breath. In this silent space I ask myself, WHO is being mindful? I become aware of the silent, still being of energy that I am. My attention turns inwards away from the external world of sense organ experiences to the subtle, powerful inner world of the soul. Now I am centered in the eternal presence of my true self. Today let me bring the awareness of my true identity to my mindful practice.
