Alan Chambers will likely be sent to prison to pay for his alleged crimes. However, the evangelical and fundamentalist churches are culpable for creating a broken system that enables people like Chambers to run exploitative youth programs. Will they reform their evil ways? My bet is they will respond as they do to every crisis: Offering useless “thoughts and prayers.”

Why are taxpayers lavishly funding Trump’s political prayer rally on the National Mall? “Rededicate 250” is a Christian Nationalist bacchanal. It’s DEI for fundamentalists—essentially Fundie Pride. It’s the type of identity politics MAGA claims to abhor.
