Cityhouse We provide housing and services to single mothers and children facing homelessness in Florida.

The vision for CityHouse began with a few families who were providing temporary shelter for children through a program called Safe Families. This program helps divert children from being placed in the child welfare system while the mothers seek to reestablish themselves so that once again they may care for their own children. Effective care was provided to the children apart from their mothers, while a desire to do more for their mothers was ignited. Over time, it became clear that if more emphasis could be placed on the family unit rather than just the children, these single mothers in need would have better opportunities to develop healthy lifestyles enabling them to provide sustainable, loving and proper care to their children. We established CityHouse in 2014 to provide long term, transformational assistance to mothers and their children.

CityHouse has four small campuses rather than one large facility, and that more personal setting is an important part of how families are supported.

Smaller campuses help create a stronger sense of community and allow mothers and children to receive more individualized care, encouragement, and connection as they work toward stability and independence.

It is more than a place to live. It is an environment designed to help families feel known, supported, and equipped for what comes next.

Everything is better when we come together for a great cause!

Gather your coworkers, rally your church, invite your friends and family, or bring your community group together for the 2026 CityHouse River Run 5K!

Creating a team is a fun way to build camaraderie, encourage a little friendly competition, and make a meaningful difference right here in South Florida.

It takes a lot of hands to turn an empty apartment into a home! 🏠

A very special thank you to Drew, Phillip, Nick, Brandon, and Fred for spending their time assembling an entire apartment's worth of furniture for a CityHouse family.

Beds, tables, chairs, and all the pieces in between. Every item assembled helps create a comfortable, welcoming space where a mother and her children can settle in and begin building toward greater stability and independence.

We are incredibly grateful for volunteers who see something that needs to be done and are willing to roll up their sleeves and make it happen.

Boca West Children’s Foundation 🏠💙 Turning an Apartment Into a Home

For a mother and her two children — a 7-month-old baby and a 9-year-old — a new apartment at Cityhouse represents much more than a place to live. It represents a fresh start after experiencing homelessness.

With funding provided to Boca West Children’s Foundation, an empty apartment was transformed into a warm and welcoming home. BWCF Chief of Staff Christina Irving joined Boca West volunteers Laurie Barnum and Duffy Lieber to paint and prepare the space, while the BWCF team shopped for additional necessities and finishing touches using funding generously provided by an anonymous donor.
