Cityhouse We provide housing and services to single mothers and children facing homelessness in Florida.

The vision for CityHouse began with a few families who were providing temporary shelter for children through a program called Safe Families. This program helps divert children from being placed in the child welfare system while the mothers seek to reestablish themselves so that once again they may care for their own children. Effective care was provided to the children apart from their mothers, wh

ile a desire to do more for their mothers was ignited. Over time, it became clear that if more emphasis could be placed on the family unit rather than just the children, these single mothers in need would have better opportunities to develop healthy lifestyles enabling them to provide sustainable, loving and proper care to their children. We established CityHouse in 2014 to provide long term, transformational assistance to mothers and their children.

When the Ft. Lauderdale Fire Department reached out to us about a mom in urgent need of safe housing, we knew this couldn’t wait.

She and her three young children had been living in a motel room that had flooded and become infested with black mold. The conditions had become so severe the children were getting sick… even vomiting in their sleep.

The situation was urgent, and we couldn’t rest until we knew this family was safe.

Mom told us her kids were huge fans of Bluey… so CityHouse did what CityHouse does. 💙

In less than 24 hours, this family went from surviving in crisis to walking into a safe, clean apartment they could finally call home.

Because every child deserves safety.
Every mother deserves support.
And every family deserves hope.

CityHouse exists for exactly that moment, when a mom needs someone to show up.

Safe housing, mentorship, therapy, career support, and a community that shows up. That's what surrounds every mom who comes to CityHouse. And when she finds her footing, her children do too.

To every person who liked, commented, shared, prayed, encouraged, and helped amplify our story, thank you. Your support helped shine a brighter light on the mission of CityHouse and the families we are honored to serve.

This recognition is more than an award. It is a reminder of what can happen when a community shows up for single mothers and children who need safety, stability, dignity, and hope.

We are incredibly grateful to the Pulte Family Charitable Foundation for this meaningful recognition and for helping bring greater awareness to organizations serving vulnerable communities.

A new set of keys. A new chapter. 🔑

One of our CityHouse moms recently received something she'll never forget, a car, gifted by "Wheels From the Heart" .

Reliable transportation can mean the difference between surviving and moving forward. For this mom, it created access to work, school, childcare, and everyday stability. It also created something harder to measure: relief, opportunity, and renewed hope.

This is what happens when a community shows up in tangible ways. We are so grateful to Wheels From The Heart for their generosity and their heart for others.

“Sometimes all it takes is one stranger’s yes.”

We are honored and grateful that CityHouse was featured on WPLG Local 10’s Good News South Florida this Mother’s Day weekend.

The story highlights Tasha Joseph, a CityHouse graduate who came to us in 2022 while experiencing homelessness with her young daughter, Willow. Today, Tasha is a college graduate, living independently, and now serves as CityHouse’s Assistant Development Director, helping raise support and advocate for other moms and children in need.

Her journey is a powerful picture of resilience, restoration, and the impact of a community that chooses to say yes.
