Who gains/loses if Z-score is adopted? In my time as a powerlifter, I’ve Schwartz, Malone, wilks, IPF pts, IPF GL and DOTS in the federations I’ve lifted in. Other feds have developed their own methodologies, Siff, NASA, Glossbrenner, Reshel, K Formula. Every time a new best lifter calculation.....

How does DOTS fit with actual lifting data in the USA Powerlifting database? DOTS is based on an empirical model of lifting performance. Everybody with the same DOTS Points, regardless of bodyweight, is supposed to be the same quality of lifter. Hence the qualifying DOTS for the Arnold is the s...

🔥 OHIO STATE RECORD ROUNDUP! 🔥
Three meets. Multiple states. A surge of new Ohio State Records proving—once again—that Ohio lifters show up anywhere and make history.

At the Maumee River Bash,
• Andrew Riley smashed a new M1 Squat Record.
• Dean Kirk powered through a M2 Bench Press Record.
• Faon Bridges added another Squat Record to Ohio’s growing list.

On the Youth platform, James Barger continued his rise, locking in new Bench Press and Deadlift Records.
In the Teen 1 division, Laney Messersmith once again swept all T1 records, reinforcing her dominance and consistency.

Across state lines, Ohio strength kept rolling:
• At the West Virginia Mountain Strong Classic, Ty Kassa claimed new Bench Press and Deadlift Records, showing that Ohio power travels.
• And at the Indiana Spring Fling, Robert Reed secured a strong new Bench Press Record, adding another win to the Buckeye tally.

Ohio lifters don’t just compete — they redefine the standard. Week after week, meet after meet, the record books keep changing because our athletes keep pushing.

💪🏽🏆 Ohio Strong, Everywhere We Go.

Thank you for hosting our athletes!

🔥 OHIO RECORD BREAKERS! 🔥

Huge congratulations to our Ohio athletes who lit up the platform at last weekend’s Pittsburgh Spring Classic.

Emberlyn Merrell came in on fire, setting new Youth 1 Ohio State Records in squat, bench, deadlift, AND total. An absolutely dominant performance from one of our youngest rising stars.

And Patrick Hela matched that energy in the 125kg Open division, smashing Ohio State Records in the squat, bench, deadlift, and total. Incredible strength and ex*****on across the board.

Ohio showed up in the 'Burgh!!! Proud of these athletes for raising the standard and representing our state with power and precision 💪🏽🏆

An added thanks to meet director for hosting our lifters!

🔥 2026 Collegiate Nationals — What. A. Week. 🔥

Ohio showed up in full force, too. From Kent State, Akron, Miami University, Defiance College, Bowling Green, Ohio University, and Toledo — our athletes represented with heart, grit, and the kind of pride you can’t fake.

🏆 New Ohio State Records Set at Collegiate Nationals:

• Emily Vitli — Collegiate Bench Press and Collegiate Total

• Kendra Cassiday — Collegiate Bench, Collegiate Total, Junior Bench, Junior Total, Open Bench, and Open Total

• Olivia Thach — Junior Squat, Junior Deadlift, and Junior Total

• Sarah Lyons — Collegiate Squat and Junior Squat

These athletes didn’t just raise the bar they launched it into orbit.

Every session reminded us why collegiate powerlifting is one of the most electric, inspiring corners of this sport.

Every platform told a story. Every session had a moment. Every team added to the atmosphere that made New Orleans feel like the center of the powerlifting universe.

Grateful to have been there and have a front row seat, grateful to witness it, and already excited for what these student‑athletes build next.

🔥 OHIO YOUTH POWER ON FULL DISPLAY 🔥

Two rising Ohio athletes stepped onto the national stage at High School Nationals — and walked away rewriting the record books.

Sophia Jump delivered an unprecedented performance in Equipped lifting. As a T1 lifter, she established new Ohio State Equipped Records in EVERY lift — across T1, T2, T3, Junior, and Open divisions. That’s dominance across five divisions from one athlete. Absolutely historic.

And in Raw lifting, Olivia Wareham showed the same Ohio fire, setting new T1 Raw State Records with poise, power, and precision beyond her years.

Ohio’s next generation isn’t just showing up — they’re setting the standard for everyone else to chase.

Proud of these athletes and the future they’re building for our state 💪🏽🏆
