👻🍫 Spooky fun at Summit 60 of Hicksville! 🎃

Today, we enjoyed Spooky S’mores with the lights off! 🔦👻 Nothing like a little spooky atmosphere to make our treats even more fun!
Last week, we had a wonderful visit from all three of our Defiance County Commissioners, who stopped by to spend time with our Hicksville seniors. We also welcomed our Canine Unit, who brought along their four-legged partner and shared some valuable lessons with us! 🐕‍🦺🐾
We’re so thankful for the wonderful visitors, fun activities, and opportunities to learn and connect with our community! ❤️

🚂 VENDOR SPOTLIGHT: OHIO OPERATION LIFESAVER 🚦

Defiance County Senior Services and Summit 60 Social Center are excited to spotlight Ohio Operation Lifesaver, a nonprofit organization dedicated to educating the public about railroad safety and helping prevent injuries and fatalities around railroad tracks and crossings!

Through free rail safety education and presentations, Ohio Operation Lifesaver helps people of all ages learn how to make safe choices around trains and railroad property. Their trained volunteers provide educational presentations for schools, community groups, and organizations, along with specialized training for law enforcement, first responders, new drivers, school bus drivers, and commercial drivers.

🚦 Remember:
🔹 Always obey railroad crossing signs and signals.
🔹 Never walk, stand, or play on railroad tracks.
🔹 Stay alert and make safe choices around trains and railroad crossings.

Rail safety education helps protect our families, friends, and communities. We appreciate Ohio Operation Lifesaver for helping spread this important, potentially lifesaving message!
