The City of Defiance has been home to so many incredible people and we are honored to have been able to celebrate our great city this year. Join us for a last HURRAH for the city's 200th birthday! This will be a great opportunity for the community to come together as well as hear from Mayor Mike McCann and he'll get to hear from you! There will be a few more items on the docket that you won't want to miss!

Need a bag for the fall festivities coming up in Defiance? Stop in the office this week or anytime during business hours next week and get your grab bags for the Defiance Lions Club Halloween Parade and Defiance Trick-or-Treat! 🎃

The Defiance Lions Club Halloween Parade is Saturday, October 28th at 7 p.m. and the City of Defiance Trick-or-Treat is Thursday, October 26th, from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. We'll see you there!

✍️ODE TO THE ZIP CODE Poetry Contest

The Bicentennial Committee is announcing another opportunity to participate in the City of Defiance’s Bicentennial Celebration! “Ode to the ZIP Code” is a poetry contest where submissions will include a short poem inspired by the ZIP Code 43512. Each line in the poem will coincide with the numbers in the ZIP Code, such as line 1 having four words, line 2 having three, and so on. The theme is “Celebrating Defiance”. 1. There are 200 numbers listed on a wall in the Defiance Development and Visitors Bureau office (325 Clinton Street). Each of these numbers correlates to the same dollar amount. For example number 72 would equal a donation amount of $72. Each number can only be chosen once.
2. Those interested in donating, please choose your number and contact the DDVB to ensure availability. Available numbers will be posted on the wall at the DDVB and on the City of Defiance Bicentennial page.
3. Donations can be made to the Defiance Development and Visitors Bureau by cash, check, credit card (for additional processing fee), and Venmo . The DDVB is acting as the treasury agent for the Bicentennial committee.
