🎉 We’re excited to announce the 2027 Camp Director for Camp Lakota — Jeff Smarkel! 🏕️
Jeff brings 3 years of camp director experience from Camp Frontier, along with a wealth of Scouting leadership experience. He has served his local council in a variety of roles, including Council Advancement Chair and Training Chair, and has contributed his time and talents to numerous volunteer committees.

His experience, leadership, and passion for Scouting make him a fantastic addition to the Camp Lakota team. We are thrilled to welcome Jeff aboard and can’t wait to see all the great things ahead for the 2027 camping season!

Today Scouting lost a great friend in Roger Frese. He was 79. Most recently he was serving as a Council Executive Board member and Old Sycamore District Chair for Black Swamp Area Council.

We hope those that were able to join us for our 75th anniversary enjoyed the day. It was a monumental celebration for Lakota and our beloved Ranger but more importantly it showed that Scouting in NW Ohio is supported and loved! You that came back to camp for the thousandth time or maybe visited us for the first time made our anniversary into an amazing experience. We hope to see you all and more at our 100th anniversary party in 2051! Until Lakota calls us home again…
